They won't retaliate when police arrest them for it. Antifa is winning, and they will continue escalating. They used milkshakes before fireworks. There are IEDs, logistic chains, factories, command and control, psyops, etc. It's almost a real army already.

What are you talking about, the only territory antifa have "taken" so far is the one populated by the worthless leftist soyboys and minorities who have voted the problem into existence in the first place. They are more organized than most people think. They use everything you said and more. There are photos of them trying to get close to police holding what looks to be a frequency scanner, numerous clips and photos of them using cheap BaoFeng radios, and public plans to use frequency jammers.
For fucks sake, does anyone else remember the clip of that woman walking ahead of "medic" trucks but behind the "protesters" holding what looked like a walkie talkie? That was a radio and she was giving commands.
This is an insurrection and their cause is bullshit.
That's the big issue; the local police are being forced to let them. Nobody CAN retaliate, because the police will stop anyone who tries to put up more than a token resistance.
If the police weren't protecting them, they'd have gotten their asses beat by now.
This is the biggest real hurdle to anyone trying to do anything besides watch.

Too much peace, comfort, boredom, time, and decades of being an epicenter of far-left progressive ideology. They don't have any real tangible problems so they seek enemies wherever they can find them; even if they need to create them themselves.
For the most part, these aren't the "people of Oregon" but more bored youth who are children of the local liberal elite. How else do you think they could possibly make so much time for these activities? They're comfortable enough financially to be able to afford it -- even as they panhandle for donations. For some, this is their job. This is how they make their money.
They don't have a cause. Their cause is themselves.
That's just a big hippie town. The protests remain in those cities because they have no means and no understanding of anything outside their cities.

It's so hilarious how Antifa requires police to thrive. Anywhere they aren't acting without police sanction they get immediately btfo and destroyed. They claim to be fighting against police, but they're reliant on the police to even act. They're a tool of people in power, the same way many city police are. They're exactly what they claim to hate and don't even realize it.
This new zone will only exist because police and the city allow it. Not because they're occupying and protesting via their own power, but because the people they're protesting magnanimously allow them to larp because it's politically expedient.
