I know Canada was building a few concentration camps like that during the covid hysteria, but as far as I'm aware, they never actually put them into practice. The Freedom Convoy happened before they did, and it became politically-inconvenient to push the issue after the protest was illegally dispersed.
Australia did actually enforce covid gulags, though. They would send cops to people's houses and drag them away if they refused to comply to the governmental mandates.

The nice thing about being a political dissident wrongly locked away in the Psych Ward in Canuckistan is that those spots are rationed too.

This is exactly how it goes. But it goes more than that. Healthcare is free, but if your treatment is too expensive (or you're too old), it will just get denied. They'll say "outcome after surgery isn't good blah blah blah" or "treatment not proved to work/not approved by Health Canada" and this will be it for you.

There will ALWAYS be 1-3% of the population that is ALWAYS mentally unwell. The degrees in which they are unwell varies as you have people with issues but perfectly functional in society. It's just the ones that CAN'T to a dangerous degree, we need to keep them contained for the rest of society's sake.

Republicans always get tricked. So it would be Republicans who bring back insane asylums but then jews would decide who goes in them (you and me) and they would rewrite what the definition of crazy is and it would include all anti-semites of course.
Just like Republicans want voter ID but it will pave the way for digital ID which will be used to track everything you do both physically and digitally. What I mean is the digital ID authority will be buried in the voter ID legislation. Quietly in the boring details somewhere.

The overwhelming number of people who were in asylums were not "committed" there or in any way court-ordered to be there. We used to have sanatoriums, wards, and asylums galore, and they were largely not for criminals or enemies of the State. They were for people who were either serially unfit to be left in their own care, and who didn't have sufficient involved community to take care of them.
The loss of these institutions is felt everywhere. Now we have the unstable and unfit, pumped-up with psyche-altering, mood-altering, personality-altering, reality-altering pharmaceuticals, and shoved back into the societal mix. They're free to menace normal citizens, and free to swap mental illness back-and-forth like cupcake recipes with other broken people, compounding their damage.
We need these places back.

I tend to agree but that has little to do with the issue here, gays were still disproportionately on the registry beforehand. If western culture never abandoned institutionalized mental care, the rollout of transgenderism would have had more pushback and more Americans would view it as a form of body dismorphia. A lot of people were hurt from closing the mental asylums. A lot of the homelessness in America is attributed to drugs, but not just the addictive street drugs; also the lack of psychiatric drugs that some people actually need to function in society, but are not receiving.
At the same time, it enrages me whenever I see news of a murderer who goes without justice due to a mental health claim. Its a nooooanced topic.
