Oh no. Tens of people are adversely affected. Catastrophe.
It's not like they have a game that needs a website anymore.
Their player count has just been continually dropping. It was 4k and now it's down to like 1.6k so it really is going to have zero players before long.
Last time I saw a game population collapse this hard was DNF Duel, but even that took a couple weeks to really see a sharp drop off. Hilariously enough, that game is still online years later despite having a concurrent player count of approximately 8 people at peak hours, while High Guard is already getting ready to shutter the whole operation.
Yeah fighting games are basically expected to drop off a cliff at some point. And they usually don't have huge costs for servers or maintenance. For a live service multiplayer focused game though, you would probably expect them to want to keep it running for at least a few years.
Was there actually anything on that site? I checked it a couple of days before release and there was barely anything on there.
Man....we didn't even get the chance to mock it, it pretty much came out dead like a LOT of these left pandering games nowadays..
