I wonder if the people who said "it was a tiny strike, it's done and over with" will now apologize or even admit that they were wrong? They were the same people who said that tearing up the Iran deal wouldn't lead to war, until it did and the "it won't happen" and "no one supports that" became "I support that and if you don't, you're paid by Qatar".

FWIW, Trump is now saying "WE WON! They stopped the killing, they won't execute anyone" (paraphrase). I still suspect that it's an attempt to lower their defenses like last time, and the Iranian regime may actually be dumb enough to fall for it.

Which embassy? America doesn't have an embassy in Iran, but Iraq and Iran are just one letter apart. And the UK did close its embassy in Iran, allegedly over fears of an attack.

And Iran loses either way. Say what you want about the Ayatollah and his buddies, a regime change would be worse. Just like in Syria, a regime change will not bring peace, just more conflict from both within and without.
So, Iran gives in to the color revolution...loses. Iran gets bombed and kills Americans in response...war, chaos. Iran gets bombed and does a weak retaliation...further weakens the regime, and you end up in the loop again.
And we will too. Iran has nearly four times the population of Syria. They're also not mostly Sunnis, so they won't be as welcome in Turkey - even if they hadn't gotten sick of the Syrians there. Where are these people going? This is going to destroy Europe.
It's almost as if these decisions are being made by people with a seething hatred of Europe, based on centuries of made up grievances.
I think they're indifferent, while we obsess over "what's good to Israel". If they can get 0.001 strategic advantage while destroying Europe, good deal!

There is a guy here who thinks that half of Europe should be 'glassed'. He's also a supporter of Israel, but I'm not sure those two are related. Plenty of ordinary Americans just hate Europe for some reason.
But a lot of Europeans hate America. People here think that I'm an America-hater, but I'm actually quite moderate compared to the average European.
