There's no putting this toothpaste back in the tube. Late night hosts spent all their accrued cultural capital on TDS. No one is going to be swayed by their histrionics at this point. The only thing they can do now is inspire more leftist terrorism with their plausibly deniable calls to action.
Yeah at this point it's the equivalent of black comedians doing the "white people talk like this" bit. Right or wrong, good or bad, ever funny or never funny, it's 100% played out and not funny now.
He's not actually saying "shut up and dribble" to comedians, he's telling them to be funny first and political second. Conan is a lefty and has done counter-Trump stuff in the past in Haiti and Israel. But he's also a dedicated student of the craft and that's why he's the only late night host I've actually watched.
Craig Ferguson was pretty good too. Prioritized comedy over politics most of the time as near as I could tell. And he seemed to be a fairly humble man deep down, which is something I've grown to recognize as one of the few qualities that seem to make someone truly human.
Even SNL is funny now and then. "Moar Cowbell" is timelessly funny! Especially since I'm a huge Blue Oyster Cult fan.
But he's just as guilty as all the rest. Since Ferguson retired not one has been different or funny. It's all (90%) bash Republicans and regurgitate the latest DNC talking points. Cookie cutters.

In the past couple of years we lost some co-bloggers (cobs). We're all getting older, it seems. I think there's a list on the main page? Yes, 3rd down on the left side. Dave in Texas and OregonMuse were great people! I really liked reading them & now they're gone.
I'd love to go to a Moron Meetup but I'm in Canada with no passport. Also poor. It should be on my bucket list!

I do remember his early Late-nite career he was pretty funny. Clips I saw were amusing. But he did always have a hard-left 'tilt' and like you said he got full-blown TDS in 2016.
Did he make a single joke about Biden? One that wasn't a "backhand compliment" or a disguised attack on Repubs or Trump?
An example of that: "The Biden Whitehouse has a terrible inflation problem. Caused by Trump of course!" The audience cheers & claps like seals. 😶

I stopped watching Conan in after the 2020 election, I think shortly after J6 (it was during the height of covid) when he did this TDS interview with Trump hater Nicole Wallace.
TBF everybody was afraid to make fun of Obama, I remember the 1st time Jon Stewart made an Obama joke and the crowd acted like he whipped his dick out.

As someone pointed out, he was far less biased early in his late-nite career. That's nice. Then full blown TDS took over though & he's never recovered. Neither have his ratings, thankfully!
I'm not going to disagree, but his travelogue segments were mild and mostly watchable. Insofar as this clip, he did follow his own advice and make them work on their own besides the Trump bashing.
Even Bill Maher, the house nigger himself, said this. That when all your act is criticism of a sole person, it goes even beyond preaching and the audience will hear it as not being critical of Trump but critical of them as Trump supporters.
