Taxation for basic infrastructure and services makes perfect sense. We’re an order of magnitude beyond that.
What we really need is automatic repeal of every ounce of spending every four years. We have no mechanism to reliably prevent infinite growth of government spending.
Taxation for basic infrastructure and services makes perfect sense
Most things make perfect sense until the government gets involved, and they find ways to pull failure from simplicity.
One of my personal anti-tax pet peeves is how much I do not believe road workers deserve human rights, let alone my money, for the service they provide.
The problem with that is the one the US has right now: the treason party will hold the good spending hostage until you let them staple free food for foreign invaders onto the bill.
I'm a childless adult male homeowner and when I add up property taxes and sales taxes and gas taxes and nickel and dime local taxes, it's well over 30% of my $60k income stolen by the government to give to people who don't work.
Two days a week working for free. I don't get a fucking dime from the government. Last time I claimed unemployment, they made me pay a bunch of it back.
I can't start a family working for free two days a week. The purpose of the system is to prevent me from doing so.
Lol. They already take 25% via federal, state and local taxes. Then they nickel and dime you every step of the way.
Yeah, you don't have to lecture me on that shit, I'm right there with you. Preaching to the choir.
Taxation is theft.

At this point that is probably by design. The bureaucracy existing to perpetuate itself, etc...
Hm, I wonder if I can expand my portfolio by providing a shadow banking service and taxless market access.
