Didn't California urged people to reduce air-conditioning during heatwave because the electrical grid couldn't take it?

How do electrical cars get charged, do they have a different grid? Can they even build new charging stations if not?

No. The answer is to ration out electricity. And who gets priority beyond the Ruling Class? Those that behave and have a good social credit score. You don't want the bad guys using that limited power to spread Hate and Disinformation, right Comrade? And the Ruling Class dictates those definitions

It all boils down to the state tricking people into accepting a lower quality of life. That's the only through-line with their logic. Electric vehicles and not using air conditioning both fit that framework.

Indeed they did! Shutting down AC units is how people die in heatwaves.

They wanted people to charge the EV's in the short time of high solar output, which is like 11am to 5pm. ie: when most EVs are away from their home charging stations.
They also wanted people to charge EVs overnight with no solar power, because then they could "tap in" to the EV batteries and drain them to support the grid. You wake up and your EV is a 20% after an overnight of "charging" eh?

It was all a lie, right from 1980.

The infrastructure is NOT set up for electric cars. From the power infrastructure itself as America should have A LOT more nuclear, the distribution of said power, the very batteries the cars use to having charging points be done by cable NOT a drive on contactless charging point.

And that's one of the multitude of reasons why battery vehicles are less than great.

I dunno, going up in a ball of flames that burns for hours will be a great way to stay warm when the power gets turned off for overuse or rolling brownouts 🤡🌎🔥

The "socialist (Democrat) utopia" of Blue States are in fact hell holes. This is example #37.

"Everyone HAS TO drive EVs. Zero emission! Not even a hybrid is allowed!"
Then they make it impossible to keep your EV charged. Thus impossible to live a normal life. That's the plan, it isn't a mistake.

Fair enough, my brain erased the fact that California had that zero emission mandate because it was so stupid.
