Perhaps I have a blind spot, but I see black males masculinity rarely challenged. Athletes are treated well, and there's the whole BBC thing.
Black athletes are rarely masculine, they’re effeminate, hyper emotional, and easily manipulated. Masculinity is the temperance of emotions and bridled strength, the praus in the Bible. The goods black role models are just as shunned by media as everyone else.

There is no popular black equivalent of Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine or Guy Pearce. No black equivalent of Won Bin or Donnie Yen. No black equivalent of Tiger Schroff or Hrithik Roshan. No black equivalent of Henry Cavill (well, maybe idris Elba, I suppose?)
In any case, they are definitely emotional, flamboyant, easily manipulated, or dumb jocks. You would never look to the mainstream blacks in Western culture (again, other than maybe Idris Elba) where you would trust them as a leader who gets things done, who you would see as a spearhead upon whose values you could build a society or community, or as a galvanising icon for heroism and stoic excellence.

This. Watching the Black players on any team jumping around like hyperactive baboons is routine in any team sport.
"Oh! I made a routine play!" Every Black on the team "Oooga Oooga Ooga"! 🙄 Seriously, it was just an ordinary play but you'd think they just won the Superbowl.
It seems that for Blacks? The "celebration dance" is practiced more than actual playing. Not that Whites don't do it too, but 7 Whites don't rush over to join in every single time.
