Forbidden Planet from the 50s is a sci-fi reimagining of The Tempest. In the early 2000s Sci Fi channel did a reimagining of Wizard of Oz. The Wiz had good music. I just hate modern reimagining or reboots because it’s always the same current year crap
Also, I've never heard of Thomas Crown, nor of any of these people, and I'll try to excise them from my mind... NOW.
Both the Steve McQueen and Pierce Brosnan films are fantastic (for people of discerning tastes of course). Then again, I'll watch anything with McQueen in it.
I suppose that makes it worse, because if you grew up loving the classics then these "reimaginings" make it sting that much more. It's purposeful desecration.
Personally, at least the first season of the 2000s Battlestar Galactica remake was better than the older one.
Also I prefer Star Trek TNG (post season 1) to Star Trek TOS.
People seem to like the 70s Supermans and Tim Burton Batmans even though there were earlier ones.
Also I think the more well known Tarzan films and Dracula films were remakes even though the don't seem that way to us because they are black and white era, there were just even earlier black and white ones. I haven't seen any of them.
Question: has a 'reimagining' ever been good? I've literally never ever been pleased at a project that was said to aim at reimagining something.
Also, I've never heard of Thomas Crown, nor of any of these people, and I'll try to excise them from my mind... NOW.

"Tin Man" is the show you are talking about.
I thought of the same mini-series / movie. Tin Man ( 2007 ), I enjoyed it.
That’s it!
The Wiz had Michael Jackson
