We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on ...
I'm not super happy with this, but if this is what you're gonna do, you're kinda gonna have to double it the fuck down.
Israel: just one more regime change, bro, this will finally solve the problem of everyone in the region hating us, bro
I mean, basically, that's their plan.
With Iran specifically I don't see how they have a choice if they're trying to stop them from becoming a nuclear power - while the current government is hell bent on becoming one. Are they just going to keep doing this? Eventually they'll miss and Iran will get the bomb. Non-proliferation is a lost cause unless the problem states are all under your control.
Look, logically they should back off. It's not worth it. Hell, it's more worth it to buy a nuclear weapon secretly. The only sane option is to change course, even if you don't want to kiss the ring. Even if you want to attack US military assets, you have to give up on building a nuke.
I'm not convinced that the Iranian government is "Hitler in the Bunker" levels of delusional. They'll talk like their insane, but so do the North Koreans, and they can all actually face reality on the ground.
I don't know, personally, what their level of delusion is. I'd trust the American diplomatic corps on that.
I think their weapons program is set back by a decade or more, depending on how well they "squirreled away" and spread the program out.
Funny, it's (probably) back to where it was when Obama gave them permission to build nuclear weapons back in the day. 🤨
Saudi Arabia was going to officially 'normalize relations' with Israel, a huge milestone to peace in the ME. It was due to happen a week or 2 after... 10/7 😶
Iran hates the Saudis, bigly. I have no doubt the attack just before the Saudis and Israel officially got friendly isn't by accident.
Its pretty much the conclusion I came to about a year ago now. There is very little we can do to actually go full on isolation because everyone will keep trying to screw with us, and I would rather have an American world than a Chinese one. So may as well just dispense with all the notions to the contrary and be the America Japan thinks we are.
And have fun with it, because why would you willing chose to be miserable.
I don't like the American Imperium. But we also can't let it go.
Iran is fucking with us, so I can't say the Iranians haven't been earning this, and strangely enough, the Arab world has not really come up to defend them either, which suggests they must be really pissing everyone off.
Arabs and Persians aren't the same thing.
That's one of the many reasons why the Arab world isn't coming to defend them. Another part of it is because they are Shia.
Like I said elsewhere, nobody wants Iran to have a nuke. Yeah, sure, you'll hear other countries grumble some, but nobody there thinks Iran can be trusted.
This true for Turkey, Saudi, Qatar... possibly even Pakistan, whom have remained relatively quiet about all of this.
Even Russia and China haven't made statements supporting a nuclear program, just condemning attacks on Iranian sovereignty.
Pretty much. If there was a way to walk it back, and return to a time where we can just say that we are going to send our own troops to guard our own friends and allies, and the ships are only for us and our friends, and we merely trade with those who seek trade with us, I would love that.
But that world is long gone, so may as well go full hog, embrace the McKinley and TR, and tell everyone else "If you got a problem, take a number. I'll kill you in a minute." I think we absolutely should still prioritize our friends and allies over "world police", and even re-evaluate who is and isnt actually allies (my personal belief: Kick the Euro's to the curb, keep friends in Eastern Europe, go all in on Asia, acknowledge Israel is and always will be a wild card, we can keep the Anglosphere due to cultural ties though).
And besides, if anything I think this makes China think twice about anything to do with Taiwan. Since that is one that we (including Trump) have actually shown a willingness to stand up for when push comes to shove. And now we are back to having First-Term Trump who is ready and willing to drop overwhelming force on someone just to prove a point without putting any (or any significant) American forces in harms way.
I will say, this will probably worry the shit out of China. "Oh fuck, he's crazy."
Can't deny that. I really would rather dismantle the American Imperium, and replace it with a coalition of nationalists, but where not near that yet, and I can't deny that Iran really does want to FAFO. I truly can't understand why they need to be so aggressive against Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the US.
Hopefully, the responding irregular warfare attacks against US military and civilians will be minimal.
