Because Chinese and Korean games are more Japanese than Japanese games themselves are now a days. Even CCP said so word for word "“many current Chinese games now look more Japanese than Japanese games”"(CCP wasn't very happy about this naturally).

Japanese games are chasing the "Global, westernized" trend. Korean and Chinese games are going for that "unapologetically otaku-bait" sort that Japan used to have.

Capcom is probably a good example. They brought in sensitivity readers, cultural consultants and all that leftist shit.

One (((feminist))) in charge did more damage than two atom bombs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beate_Sirota_Gordon

"Otaku bait"

You mean their fucking culture that was so attractive even foreigners liked it?

Jesus, what a way to slander a culture.

I do not understand this comment

Sorry. What I'm saying is that it sounds like when someone says "Otaku Bait", what they are really referring to is foreigners being attracted to authentic Japanese culture, and using that word to slur the use of authentic Japanese culture as something pandering and low-brow.

Koreans made a game called Blue Archive that apparently has been much more successful than Japanese mobile games of the same genre (anime girls fighting ___, gambling element to get new/more characters or other things). The Chinese and Koreans have allegedly done better lately despite the genre originating in Japan.

As someone who plays Blue Archive, Eternal Return, Pokemon Unite and Marvel Rivals, Korea and China have been recently killing it in terms of producing anime style video games better than Japan

Asians are apparently great at copying, not so much with innovating. And the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

The ancient Chinese were innovators, sadly they're long extinct and a turko-mongol population larping as them is all they've got now.

I don't think that describes Han Chinese

The Chinese figuring out they can make video games and farm every single aspect of the presentation out to the Japanese has been a wonderful development.

Too bad chinks N gooks are only good at imitation--copying pre-existing material

Its OG japs and [White] western devs that innovate

But these days, the afforementioned are non-existent in the industry

Replaced by trannies, wimminz and indians the western game-dev scene looks bleak

And yet if you look at most jap gachas, theyre all shovelware ips of big brands that die off in less than year. Really the jap boomer buisiness men are stifling their entertainment industry to death.

BA really took off due to it's defiance against censorship and government bs. Remember this game took down a government branch by uncovering it's a crypto farm.

gacha slop

Perish

I don't even care that you try to justify the most cancerous business model imaginable with "but it's WEEEB", have some self respect.

When you think about how much some basic bitch waifu phone games from Korea and China are BTFOing AAA games from the west and Japan? Sad.

What’s funny is the only reason I didn’t check out BA is because I was already playing Princess Connect at the time

And there was no way Crunchyroll could mess up a blue chip property like Priconne. It’s like the New Coke! It’ll be around forever!

A thing I remember from a Chinese Gacha game I follow, was these games are used to export Chinese culture, so the only trend they chased was genre. What's more, Chinese developers are all part-owned by the government, so they can't push American social issues in their games.

Thing is im not really seeing much ccp pull from most of cn games. Ak and GI are the only ones with obvious Chinese shilling in them.
