Japanese games are chasing the "Global, westernized" trend. Korean and Chinese games are going for that "unapologetically otaku-bait" sort that Japan used to have.
Capcom is probably a good example. They brought in sensitivity readers, cultural consultants and all that leftist shit.

Sorry. What I'm saying is that it sounds like when someone says "Otaku Bait", what they are really referring to is foreigners being attracted to authentic Japanese culture, and using that word to slur the use of authentic Japanese culture as something pandering and low-brow.
