Have you ever read the Aubrey-Maturin novels? Cpt. Jack had a habit of unintentionally mixing euphemisms to great effect. Frankly I found it annoying because I had been intentionally doing it for years before I read O'Brian's novels and Jack did it so much better than I ever had.
I'm afraid not. Though that's one of my favorites malapropisms. Like I said, O'Brian had almost twenty books to make Jack a master of saying the wrong thing just right.
Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus "outside of the Church there is no salvation", originates from the writings of Saint Cyprian of Carthage in the 3rd century.
Preordained is about salvation, while chosen people is about being blessed with Gods favor. I think it’s stupid to argue about chosen, especially if you’re a Christian.
This is actually a very UnCatholic thing to say. The Catechism says Catholics didn't replace the Jews as the chosen people. Do what you want with that information.
Inb4 "Pope Leo XIV apologizes for antisemitic remarks. Jews, not Christians, are God's chosen people."
Well, at least for the moment, I know the answer to the age old question: is the Pope Catholic?
The last one probably shit in the woods

Tell me he used 'we'll burn that bridge when we get to it,' because that's one of my favorites.

I've read 4 of them, and have about ten in my library. It's a steady read, and feels like Tom Clancy for late 18th century.
"I don't know, mang. Where His Holiness does his business is his business."
i thought "does the pope shit in his hat" mean does he literally take his hat off, turn it upside down, then shit into it.
I thought it was a way of saying "No, obviously."
Fucking childhood.

I find it hard to believe that followers of globohomo Bergoglio were saved while the based Orthodox were damned. Just saying.
Manifest heretic are outside of the Church. Bergoglio was a heretic, not part of the Church and cannot be a real pope. Watch VaticanCatholic.com

I thought that idea was primarily a Calvinist teaching. I guess I'm still confused about the distinction between being chosen and preordained.
Nope, that's straight from the Gospels.
In other words, God's chosen choose Jesus. Which is exactly what happened when Christ's ministry split Judea.
You are free to join The Chosen. Maybe a Calvinist would say there's no distinction. If you joined it was because God chose you.
