Pulling up that ladder, as well as pulling it off and similar puns and innuendo, was shown to have little about the message being proclaimed since attempts by actors to draw attention to abuse they received, like with Terry Crews, were shouted down because women needed to speak. But they didn't want to actually speak, they just wanted the younger generations below them to stay there.

Almost every one that did was older, past her prime, and had nothing to lose by pulling this bridge up after her, like Susan Sarandon for example.
