How Pop Culture Turned a Generation of Women Against Themselves

Which is still only the latest in a long line of this happening with regards to both intra- and inter-generational conflict fostered to create division.

MeToo was spearheaded by older actresses who had already climbed on the ladder, and by that I mean Weinstein's dick, to get one up on the competition. Pulling up that ladder, as well as pulling it off and similar puns and innuendo, was shown to have little about the message being proclaimed since attempts by actors to draw attention to abuse they received, like with Terry Crews, were shouted down because women needed to speak. But they didn't want to actually speak, they just wanted the younger generations below them to stay there.

But then I've and others have posted about this before and it's probably not news to anyone on this site, even if they haven't read this specific thread or the others.

No. Look at the list of actresses that came out against him vs the ones who didn't.

Almost every one that did was older, past her prime, and had nothing to lose by pulling this bridge up after her, like Susan Sarandon for example.

Meanwhile you have Jennifer Lawrence who not only said nothing but also just dropped off the fucking map for a few years after this happened because she was no longer being fed roles.

The whole thing was a group of post wall, middle-aged and older women making sure their younger competition wouldn't have the same opportunities as they did, no matter what it might have taken to get the roles. When various male actors came out with their own tales of sexual assault being made against them, like Terry Crews, they were told to shut up and let the women talk, it had nothing to actually do with whatever abuse was going on in Hollywood, certain groups just wanted to retain leverage over others.

Lol. I had a huge crush on Jennifer, but she was the most obvious Weinstein case on the planet. The coverage around her It Girl rise to fame in the early 2010s was so mental in hindsight that she practically had Weinstein's name tattooed on her arm.

She clearly has a massive complex about it too. When people make behind-the-scenes deals like this, it seems like they try to overcompensate with philanthropy and activism to try and convince themselves it was worth it.

The tax breaks help as well.
