Not really disagreeing with any of your critiques of Canada.
It remains to be seen though what becomes of the Republican party in 3 years without Trump as the driving force.
Crashouts like Vivek over the H1b stuff over Christmas suggest that their bench strength isn't deep and the party could easily slip back into either Mitt Romney cowardice or neocon warhawk McCain archetypes.
I think what it really will come down to is if Trump names his own successor. Which seems likely as I doubt he will keep quiet after he leaves. And considering how Obama has been, the Dems don't have much leg to prevent that.
But Trump is really bad at picking people. He has a lot of great ones and a lot of really fucking bad ones too. So that's a big gamble.
So he basically pulled a Kamala unlike Trump who, under what a lot of people suggest was under Barron's suggestion, embraced 'new media' and podcasts getting A LOT of people especially younger voters on his side.
Which is odd and seems out of character considering how many YouTube videos he posts and how he rose to prominence off of viral clips of bulldog anti-left language. Very peculiar.
Your 'true populists' like Trump and Milei who at least try to follow through on what they promised.
I'd argue even that isn't the true populist. Don't get me wrong, I think they've done some good things, and their hearts are likely in the right place...but they've both made compromise after compromise too, and betrayed their base at times too.
We have yet to see the true populist. (True Populism Has Never Been Tried.)
The most shocking and condemnable part is, he pulled a Kamala after Kamala already pulled a Kamala.
Everyone had all the guidelines, all the data. Of what to do, and what not to do.
The other ridiculous part is...unless you're a gigacuck, why would you cut your own throat to try to cozy up to the media, when they clearly hate you? If you have near universally negative media attention, the goal is to go around them, not try to get them to like you. There's no fucking excuse.
In the last 24 hours I’ve had a bunch of conservative-leaning influencers and creators reach out to me, complaining about the ways they’ve been jerked around by the Conservative campaign, promised interviews that never happened, and so on. This has fostered a lot of ill-will and apathy among influential voices in the final days of the election that was not necessary. Again, it’s one thing to hate the mainstream press, but another thing to hate the mainstream press AND disrespect the people trying to build an alternative to them.
I mean just to put an even finer point on it, over the last few days the Conservatives’ media strategy has been defined by snubbing alternative media and coming out in favor of taxpayer subsidies for the mainstream press.
"I don't know who the Nelk Boys are"
All you need to know is that they got Trump tens of millions of views and played a big part in humanizing JD Vance. Their founder is also Canadian.
edit: Patrick Bet-David of Valuetainment said Pierre also turned him down. Looks like the guy just didn't want to win.

Correct. And you should fear warhawks because they will not rest until every White male dies in military service.
Well, what if you’re suicidal?
pierre really was just a controlled stooge all along.
Ah, so he was being a Canadian RINO.

I've come to the conclusion that we have two types of populist on the right:
The 'poser populist' who take on the look and attitude but don't commit to the policies or behaviour like your Pierre and I'd also say Farrage.
Your 'true populists' like Trump and Milei who at least try to follow through on what they promised.
The first type always buckle the second they encounter a strong bit of resistance while the latter just push back and keep pushing.
