Gendered armor variants missing :: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered General Discussions
Did anyone notice that female characters just wear the male armor now. Original Oblivion had more feminine armor for female characters. The only feminine variants that I see that weren't removed were the dark seducer and golden saint sets, but now they hav...
I don't understand how gamers have such low impulse control that they continue to give money to companies that have repeatedly proven that they hate us, and consume this slop.
Never mind. I know why.
Because most of the consumer base now is normies/tourists who want to be part of an in group no matter how bad the product might be or how bad any of them are at the actual game. It's just a different slice of tribalism that's been part of history for centuries that until recently was far more frequently found in sports.
In the last 3 decades gaming went from a niche outcast hobby to one of the largest entertainment formats in the world and multiple sides of the industry pushed hard to not only normalise it but pander to an ideal low denominator of difficulty in order to maximise engagement and money generation. It's why later WoW expansions are not only easier in terms general approach, the bosses literally call out their attacks now so even those without DBM can know something is happening, but require fewer players. OG raiding was 20 and 40 man raid groups. TBC moved that to 10 and 25. Flex then did away with that even more. While there might be more going on in encounters now vs Vanilla, TBC, and Wrath the fights are still piss easy in comparison because classes are not as important, a single player can't fuck up everything except on the "harder" difficulties like mythic which are meant to still provide a challenge, and even if people don't bother with that they can still source gear from multiple other sources making what used to be the endgame of WoW redundant.
One of the worst parts is Blizz pushed for this. They literally chose to make their own game move away from one of the original appeals from 20 years ago, that's how braindead Blizz is as a company now. Another worse part is that the current playerbase wants this because they no longer have the attention spans or effort to do a dungeon that lasts more than 20 minutes or a raid that lasts more than an hour.
I don't understand either. Once I get a whiff of DEI or wokeness, it's natural and even easy for me to not buy or play it. Some friends I know will complain about those things and then will not change their buying habits at all. It's baffling to me.
Same
Ngl I really want to play this. I may have to visit the high seas and then mod the gay out
Just wait for Skyblivion. It's going to be a better game.
Just fucking play the original. There is nothing wrong with it.
I still play Morrowind for this reason!
There's the 2007-09 GOTY edition on Steam. Cheap. Works fine. No modern audience downgrades.
dont buy the original either because you'll give the company money. going the high seas is the answer
If you know why let me know, because my friends are the same way and I don't get it. They are pro Trump and anti-wokeness in general, but they absolutely must have the latest slop. I try to tell them the original Oblivion is still out there and you could have played it at any time BUT ITS UNREAL5E GRAPHICS BRO! They also complain about not having time to play games and consume media because they have to spend time working and mowing the lawn or shit.
A lot of the explanation was made in other replies, but it didn't touch on all of it.
As civilizations peak, relative abundance and safety make people weak. The hard won lessons and hardships their ancestors went through, at the peak of civilization, their progeny become accustomed to, take for granted, and demand more and more. The people become spoiled, selfish, and hedonistic. The economy begins to center around providing more and more excesses and pleasures to cater to people's pursuit of more and more dopamine hits. In that state, and in that environment (what we're currently in right now), it's very easy for people to become slaves to their desires. They become addicted. And, with the instant gratification of modern society, impulse control is at an all time low, as people can often get their dopamine hits almost immediately, or within 30 minutes, max.
Video gaming is no different than any other vice being offered in this highly hedonistic society we're currently living. If you've never seen any info on addiction, you should. It explains a lot, of how people act, how they rationalize their choices, and how it becomes an ingrained behavior and mental attitude, that is really easy to fall back into.
