I got a lot of good feedback on this post about a month ago, if anyone remembers, so I thought I'd post an update on the semi-finalized rules before the contest launches.
- image host will be catbox.moe
- prompt will be relatively open-ended to allow for creativity, permitting many art styles, perspectives, etc
- winners will be selected by judges to eliminate vulnerabilities in crowd voting. I'll be the judge for the first contest, but more will be added in the future.
- longest side of the image will be limited to 1300 pixels. This is easily gamed, but it's still a rule to get across the spirit of not just super-prompting your way to victory.
- submitters should provide their model, prompts, LoRAs, and other parameters upon request.
- for the sake of simplicity, all secondary techniques like LoRA, inpainting, refinement passes, etc will be allowed, EXCEPT ControlNet/reference images. The idea will be to generate an idea purely with the knowledge of prompts and other abstract tools. Again, this will be on the honor system.
- no overt erotic imagery, such as cameltoe etc
- contest will be open for... 2 days? To allow a generous window for submissions. Judging will happen within a day after official close of submissions.
- u/DomitiusofMassilia graciously agreed to sticky the contest. Hopefully he is checking the board this week.
I'm thinking of launching this Thursday 4/10 and judging over the weekend.
Art will be judged on two criteria: fidelity (technical quality of art) and expression (the depth, originality, and effectiveness of sentiment expressed). AI is criticized for its repetition, but with human direction I think it has the potential to realize striking ideas from people that would be otherwise limited. Also, I want to encourage the artistic sensibilities on this board.
Let me know if that date will work, or any other comments. Tagging u/DomitiusofMassilia and people who responded to the first thread:

I'm not too likely to have access to my beef PC rig this weekend, nature of work. But I'm also a complete troll and would probably submit a giant image of a literal camel's hooves, just for the laugh.
