Yes. This is why there's no point arguing with people who rant about global warming. If they were rational, cambrian era CO2 data would have been enough to convince them they were wrong.
Just pointing out that the mass production of those stupid little bullcraps you can find at every check out counter in walmarts, targets, walgreens, you know the plastic and rubber shit you see for a buck or two. All made in taiwan, china, vietnam by the millions, all loaded into shipping containers and thrown by the hundreds onto massive cargo freighters that burn a miliion tons of fuel to get it to a port just to be driver around the country.
That alone produced more co2 pollution than every car on the planet combined for a year.
These super freighters are the biggest producers of pollution for vehicles and if they believed in global warming they would support more isolationist policies and demand that all of these inconsequential little knick knacks be made in their country just to cut down on the polution.
Big ships run high sulfur "bunker diesel" as it is the cheapest fuel possible. The ships spend most of their time in international waters, where there is no emissions regulation.
Diesel Trucks have catalytic converters and newer trucks treat their exhaust with Add Blue to catalase the nitrate emissions. There are efforts to regulate emissions of micro-fine soot particles; which contain the odd radioactive Carbon 14 particle.
CO2 emissions can be offset by forestry efforts. Sulfates and Nitrates cause acid rain. Micro-fine soot is radioactive and causes cancer, especially in big cities where the density is high.
I am not a fan of DPF filters, it is a stupid way to regulate exhaust emissions and is a ploy to force obsolescence of older trucks. Still, emissions testing and regular rebuilds are desirable. You can rebuild old trucks forever with the correct motivation.

Well, yes and no. Multiplication is a bitch.
In terms of emissions per tonnage mile ships are actually pretty efficient and OTR trucks are godawful terrible. But if we wanted to really kill emissions we'd get rid of air travel.
But if we wanted to really kill emissions we'd get rid of air travel.
Instead, the global elites (who are telling how how dire the situation is and insisting we need to live in mud huts and eat ze' bugs) are cutting down many square miles of the Amazon rain forest to build a new road so thousands of people can fly halfway around the world in private jets to meet to tell us we need to change our entire way of living in order to save the planet.
I have nothing but scorn for people who can't see right through this shit.

What? Life on the planet barely even existed in the Cambrian era, how the fuck is that your argument? Do you even know what you're saying, or is this just repeating a talking point?

Your reference is a time before the planet even had fucking trees?
Simple. Since the GOE, the UPPER LIMIT of CO2 concentration of the atmosphere has been defined by the LOWER LIMIT of plant life to survive in a CO2 starved environment.
The successive evolution of C3, C4, and CAM respiratory cycles have been the major breakpoints in allowing successively lower and lower CO2 concentrations. Were it not for human intervention, it's entirely possible that C3 life would be suffocated out by the more advanced cycles.
The immediate retort is "if plants are so greedy that they're the limiting factor then how is CO2 concentration climbing?" The answer is evolution. It takes time for plant life to respond to increased CO2 concentration by shifting from more investment in reproduction to more investment in photosynthesis. Also, on a geologic scale, we've barely nudged the needle for atmospheric concentration. A few percent, when over geologic timescales Earth has seen sustained periods of life where the concentration was 10 times higher.
We ARE seeing a transition occur, NASA has confirmed the Earth is becoming "greener" as plants react to the sustained increase in available CO2.
During the time of the dinosaurs, CO2 concentration was such that plant growth was much faster than it is today.

IIRC, the real problem with huge tanker ships is the sulfur-based pollution they emit.
This.
