Goddamnit now I'm going to be distracted thinking about the flight characteristics of circular saw blades until I take a few out into the woods to try it.
Some lunatic actually rigged up a way to put a giant one on a car axle and intentionally launch it off as a sonic the hedgehog joke, so I know they can roll.
Turok 2 literally had a weapon that was entirely that, a circular saw you threw like a boomerang, and it was awesome.
Though that was a game where almost every weapon was awesome. Its been 30 years and still no FPS can reach how good the Cerebral Bore feels to use in terms of making my enemies suffer.
Dead Space's Ripper has a secondary fire that shoots out saw blades, though it's less useful than its primary function of suspending a spinning blade three feet in front of you.
