We need Common Sense Car Control. We need to ban V8's, Spoilers, and put limiters on cars so they don't go past 65 mph.

Wales doesn't have this problem. They have a nation-wide speed limit of 20 mph.

Yeah, it's pretty bad.

Some of the full size motorways are at 50 (reduced from 70). And they did eventually drop it after country-wide backlash.

yup

I think they might have dropped it?

it is a stupid idea by a stupid local government* voted in by stupid retards because it is going to lead to cars wearing out faster because, get this, 30MPH and its close cousin 50KPH are really common speed limits around the world so cars are designed to be really comfortable just sitting around 30MPH, 20 is really uncommon so cars are slightly less efficient at such speeds

that only exists because of the dark lord (tony blair) fucking splitting the fucking UK up by giving the historical countries* "devolved" power and their own shitty fucking parliaments carefully fucking orchestrated so only fucking blairite wankers can be in power

**ALTHOUGH WALES WAS A FUCKING COLLECTION OF KINGDOMS WITH ONLY GRUFFUDD AP LLYWELYN BEING THE KING OF THE ENTIRETY OF WALES FOR EIGHT FUCKING YEARS STARTING IN 1055 OTHER THAN THAT WALES HAS NEVER HAD A WELSH KING WHAT FUCKING NEXT EACH HISTORICAL FUCKING SUB KINGDOM GETS ITS OWN SHIT? we sort of already have that with councils but those technically don't get to dictate law (but they do anyway) then theres starmers super council bullshit

the UK is entirely fucked, and I fully support any plans for england to leave the UK

the answer to "UK?" is currently no not K

It's not nearly as blanket as is being implied, and clearly not the issue at hand, but

From https://www.gov.wales/introducing-default-20mph-speed-limits

Wales was one of the first countries in the world, to pass a law changing the speed limit on restricted roads to 20mph.

Restricted roads are usually in residential and built-up areas where there are lots of people. They often have street lights on them, placed no more than 200 yards apart. Historically, these had a 30mph speed limit.

48km/h reduced to 32km/h.

It'll be a talking point in forcing self-driving cars on cities.
