Maybe some "geek" organizations really are finally pulling their heads out of their asses.
Nevermind. I see what is going on here. I would bet every dollar to my name that this has nothing to do with their identity politics and everything to do with their support for Palestine.
Yup. Nothings really changed. The real enemy remains at large
Also doesn’t help to have sci fi conventions where diversity hires have a platform to rant about the usual crap instead of discussing sci-fi and fantasy
Begone negro pets! You no longer amuse me !
jews disrespected change must happen NOW
Translation: "I will be harassing Mr. Adkison and getting as many people as possible to help me until he meets with me in private. Then if he doesn't reverse course I will make false accusations about things he did not actually say to me in our meeting which he cannot defend himself against."
I guarantee if Mr. Adkison were to go in and say “by the way, I’m going to record this meeting,” they’d go “whoa, whoa, whoa, this is a casual meeting, there’s no need for that!”
Too little too late

I'm leaning towards it being so infested with activists, they started upping the shakedown/extortion. When this Emily chick didn't get what she wanted she pulled out the 'GenCon bosses are -ist -phobe" innuendo. Someone in the convention management musta decided to nip that shit in the bud before they got pilloried on social media.
They wont be changing their ways, just hiring a different crop of activists, is my guess.
Probably this.
A power struggle, intermixed with personal grievances and I'm sure inappropriate sexual relations.
Kinda late but better late than never. Honestly they can’t accept that sci fi readers skew heavily male. Now fantasy skews more 50/50 but another thing they can’t accept is that thinly bowled lectures on race/lgbt/girl power don’t sell. They keep rewarding garbage books that push the message while they could be highlighting good authors.
At least you stuff like Baen and Arkhaven
I don't believe for a minute that this is significant or indicative of any sort of shifting winds. I know very well the kind of person who attends Gen Con.
I stopped going to GenCon after that incident with Jeremy of the Quartering getting attacked by an activist and GenCon banning JEREMY.
lol
