Nah screw that, we're behind MASSIVELY culturally because we refuse to use certain tools at our disposal when they LITERALLY want us dead.
This doesn't mean we need to stalk and harrass those we disagree with like the left does, but if they say dumb shit like this then we should be able to take that to their employers, sponsors and business partners and ask if this represents them.
This is what conservatives do. They do these "high minded" acts and think they will be seen and reported as just and fair, and they'll be viewed as principled. And they expect the left to reciprocate in kind. But they don't and never will.
This wanting to die noble instead of fighting is just stupid. You aren't going to martyr yourselves enough to convince people who hate you.

You shouldn't adopt leftist "principles" or ideologies and give them a right-wing slant, but you should damn sure adopt leftist tactics, especially if they're proven to be effective. Auron McIntyre posted an interesting 4-point plan on what you should be doing politically. It's simplistic but it's a start.

I also I do agree though that there is a difference cancelling someone and just not purchasing their products any more.
Could also be that people simply downvote the story and sentiment behind it, not the user. Don't take it personally.
I think people need clues in the post title to see that. As it reads right now, it can be interpreted as echoing this declaration for the whole of MAGA followers that "we" should not or will not "cancel" the band. Maybe include the news outlet name to separate yourself from the statement.
You can't exactly rely on people recognizing your username from a separate post to fill in context.
