I've mentioned it before in comments a few times, but my entire interest in the show as a whole started and ended with the fact that Mori Calliope sings the ending theme (and it's good as hell), but I didn't really have much interested in the actual setting of the show mainly because I checked out of American hero stuff with Endgame, but if any of y'all have seen what's available right now, what's your opinion on it?
Edit: posting the actual animation with the opening and ending themes for the sake of posterity:

Why the fuck would you even consider watching something like this?
Cyberpunk 2077 was mostly non-woke with just a couple of stinky moments (like intentionally uglified women characters, super-hackers from the country with the lowest IQ score, that awful tracer quest and inability to say what a sleazy slut that brainmolten whore was).
Now, whereas Phantom Liberty went full woke, Edgerunners was non-woke and pretty cool. Maybe not too deep but, honestly, cyberpunk is a dumb feels genre, the whole "philosophical" allure of that is chunibyo cringe anyways.
Come to think of it that's probably the most woke and unbelievable thing ever in 2077. The original Voodoo Boys in the tabletop RPG (despite being written by Mike Pondsmith) weren't actually Haitian they were just White geeks who liked the name. I don't know who exactly was behind the change, but it's a perfect example of wokification.
You forgot removing Male/Female and replacing it with Type 1/Type 2. Adding in tranny options to appease the loud trannies who complained about a lack of tranny options and feeding into the alphabet nonsense.
But these days, most people really don't seem to mind woke games, and as I mentioned some years ago, the barometer for what people will consider woke will keep getting pushed further and further Left because the Overton Window keeps getting dragged further and further left.
Like I said in the OP, one of my favorite vtubers sings the ending for this, and that was my entire interest in it
I don't know whether to congratulate you on being into something so much that you're willing to endure modern propagandist comic slop, or pity you because they found the weakness to get you to voluntarily endure modern propagandist comic slop.
I don’t think he actually watched it. I think he listened to the song and then got curious about if the thing it was attached to had been viewed by anyone.
If he actually did watch the show just for the closing credits song, that’s very strange indeed.
That's exactly it. I'm not about to watch this if it's awful, so I just listened to the song and went here to ask to make sure I don't waste whatever hours of my life once the full season and/or series is out
He likes vtubers. He deserves no pity.
Because Japan made it, duh.
It's still culturally legal to make things that appeal to normal heterosexual men in Japan so there's not going to be a sudden twist where Peacemaker and Clayface make out or a speech about women's rights from Harley.
Everything I've heard so far has been that its passable and fine, but no one really cares because all the characters are so overused and everyone is burnt out of seeing them. Warner hasn't realized yet that Harley is a dead meme and no one wants her front and center for another show.
Its also only partially released, so time will tell if they have the time to ruin it.
Street trash hooker Harley for sure. But that's the only Harley they're willing to do anymore.
Everything that once made Harley interesting or unique is now a dime a dozen. The only thing that still stands out is her accent. So even if they tried to use "classic" Harley it would instead just be a drop in the puddle.
They have a harley quinn in the new batman animated series coming out but she looks like a fucking retard
She also appears to be replacing the Joker entirely so that they can fill in the strong womyn thing right away.
The new batman with the black gingers - they went so far replacing gingers they even let the fucking blacks have ginger hair man, insane
Nobody wants to see gross ugly feminist-style Harley sitting around in sweatpants. Plenty of people still want to see hot goth BPD clown slut Harley committing crimes.
If they did, Punchline would be more popular. Because she is another hot goth BPD clown slut for the Joker to have around, except dark haired instead of blonde. Yet she is still a barely used obscure character.
Bro, 14 years ago there was a huge marvel push into anime space, mostly done by madhouse - for example, Sato Yuzo, one of their best, followed his phenomenal Kaiji-One Outs combo with this: https://myanimelist.net/anime/6875/
Anybody remembers that, lol? Has the sky fallen yet?
And there was more of that with all the usual suspects. Nobody cared, nothing changed.
I'd agree with the premise, except for the fact that even if they could accurately identify and craft a fitting world and story to try and garner attention, the sheer lack of effort and talent from them would leave a under baked, underwhelming product. We've seen their efforts to try and make appealing games and guess what, they fucking suck, to the point where the big name studios that have fallen under their banners are failing dismally compared to a guy or three in their garage pumping out a passion project.
I lectured my girl for about 45 minutes over how sad it is that the greatest animation style to come out of the west in modern history (that sick dc comics blocky 1950s Batman tas art) is being abandoned because a bunch of stupid fucking suits can’t see past the surface of why nobody likes their shit anymore. A fucking comic book ip has given up on art and is just schlocking up the saddest focus-tested bullshit ever.
We happened to see that new Superman cartoon while staying at a hotel though. Don’t watch this, it legitimately represents everything wrong with modern media. Mori’s involvement is just desperation on Warner brother’s part, too on the nose to be anything other than a “hello fellow kids” move.
Nope, they're banking hard on better animation and non shit stories/characters in an attempt to salvage DC by yet again throwing out another Suicide Squad film with Harley because it's all they have. They already had this, it was called Assault on Arkham and it's what was copied then pasted with some stupid edits to make the first of the most recent live action adaptations.
DC, just like Marvel, has zero creativity any more.
I did watch the three episodes that are available now. It's enjoyable enough, but I'm withholding final judgement until I've seen more.
King Shark's pretty funny, and there's some good dynamics. Overall, at the very least there's some good potential. It is worth a watch if it's your kind of thing.
If you're going to talk about the ed, you'd better link the actual ed not just the song as the animation does just show the tone of it...
It isn't bad, slightly above average so far for an isekai. They have countered the 'how is Harley even alive against these enemies?' by having the team affected by magic by coming to this world but they're still pushing this character too much.
The bigger question is how it will end, there is only 10 episodes in this, and so far it's not gone woke ideology, if that continues then it at least means WB is probably handing off some properties to Japanese anime studios to keep their franchises relevant than try to DEI push anime. THAT'S the more important query I have with this anime.
True, though I'm not saying we give them a pass if this one doesn't go woke, I'm only saying hold on the artillery fire and see if they continue to JUST think of the money and keep licensing out (because right now they are J K Rowling's bitch with how dependant on Harry Potter they are currently) and then open fire the SECOND they try to insert ONE thing woke.
Yes, it's extremely good so far. There's absolutely no Western or DEI stink in the first three episodes unless the mere idea of American comic book characters upsets you or you're a retard and think seeing skank-style Harley Quinn beat up big muscular orcs is somehow bad.
Anime? The DC animated movie right? Seen both. They're both surprisingly good. One takes place in Arkham the other is some sort of road trip. Well worth seeing as the vast majority of DC animated movies are.
