They are dying. Their cultural force is losing its oomph so they are trying to claw back some power. I personally don't believe they've stolen anything. They are just trying to dirty the terms. It only works if you let them and take the weaker position of just giving them these terms.
Their strength is in manipulating language. That's why their acronyms keep changing: so that no one ever knows what to argue against.
If you ever get attacked for not knowing what "woke" means, or doing the LGBETC acronym wrong, or not knowing exactly how they say DEI, you know what I'm talking about. Similarily, "equity" vs equality, "racism" that is privilege + power instead of actual racism, these terms only serve to muddy the waters because they have absolutely no intention of having a good faith conversation with anyone.
It was always this way. They were always weak and hid behind words because their actions were hypocritical and pathetic. The difference we're seeing is that everyone else is waking up to their BS.
Leftists subvert - so they have to start by coopting your terms. It doesn't matter if you're conservative, neutral, or even liberal/left, they are going to twist what you hold dear to more fuel for the revolution and/or reshaping society.
They claim that Charlemagne tha Based God invented it because it was the first time they heard it. That proves nothing.
Somehow I just doubt that rap made its way into the dissident right. I certainly didn't start saying it from a rap song, and I understood intuitively what it meant. Which no God-nigger does. So I think it's a different origin from them.
Pretty sure that's exactly where it came from. If I recall, based was one of the words being spammed on 4chan to piss people off, much like the phrase, "smh tbh fam" which was similarly co-opted and memed on to the point it was eventually word-filtered into "baka desu senpai". Posters began using "based" ironically and it took on a new life from there.
If 4chan popularized it, then it wasn't rap. it was a word already, so a rapper can't invent it. And then as far as its usage, it seems to have traveled round the world and come to the dissident right through 4chan. The implication saying it was invented by a rapper is that a) it belongs to black people or b) white people got it in some kind of wigger fashion, which isn't the case. There are definitely words white people have gotten from rap in precisely that fashion. I just don't think "based" is one of them.
In terms of the current dissident right I certainly agree with you that the usage of based is all but unrelated to the rapper's usage of the word.
Having said that, I don't think burying your head in the sand and pretending there's no relation what-so-ever is something I can abide. For starters, it's hardly the kind of thing you're worrying about. It's not like some weirdo leftist adding "y'all" to their tweets to ingratiate themselves with the darkies or some shit. It's active mockery. /pol/'s original use of based, in typical 4chan fashion, was a mockery of the term, those who used it and everything it stood for.
My stance on the matter is that while it's wrong to say that the dissident right have the rapper to "thank" for based, it did originate from mockery of that rapper's bullshit. Considering that, I don't think he or anyone else can realistically claim he has "ownership" over based in the way it's currently used. Whatever the fuck that would even mean.
Forget terminology, has anyone else caught wind of the talk around the International Democratic Union? Their trying to stir up their own WEF conspiracy but only conservatives are evil this time.
It's how they stole snowflake. Originally it was used to describe how leftists would have an unreasonably emotive reaction to anything against them, but nowadays you only see them use it.

Nope. As u/chaosbydesign said, it was a dig at people for thinking that they were such a special little unique snowflake. It was later that people started using it to mean "fragile."

" they have absolutely no intention of having a good faith conversation with anyone."
Sums it up nicely
Happened immediately when the whole femstodes bullshit dropped in Warhammer.
Didn't like it? Spoke up against it? Then you were automatically labeled a 'tourist' and not a REAL fan like the various trannies were.
It was pretty much done overnight. NPC updates are real and I refuse to believe otherwise.
They love to steal, period.
co-opt, take over, destroy, repeat. It's their mantra.
The term 'Snowflake' has been ruined by this.
It originally was a dig a those tumblrgender weirdos and about how they want to be a unique little snowflake with their made up genders.
Now people use it to mean fragile which is so dumb.

There is no other goal, it's all connected.
I agree with you, but I'm pretty sure "based" is originally from rap or something like that.

it was lil b
I'm not sure I understand that sentence. What was lil B? Is Lil B a person?
lil b the based god
Changing definitions is textbook propaganda.
Only children use the word tourist like that. That is such under age, zoomer bullshit.
