Is she actually an instrumental figure worthy of being the CEO? Or was she put there intentionally as a figurehead because they knew it would be a good tactic to diffuse criticism from feminist retards? Genuinely curious, not trying to shit on them for it. If that is the case, then it's brilliant.
Considering how the social media prudes scream when some of the more lewd skins come out, the diffusion tactic is not exactly working if that is the strategy.
From what I can find online, the majority of revenue comes from China, Korea and Japan, so they could tell the rest of the world to pound sand and be perfectly fine.
They absolutely do not give a shit whatsoever about Western social justice in any way, the entire company understands their objective is to sell pictures of anime girls with battleship cannons and huge fat swinging tits.
I've heard of Azur Lane tangentially, is their character design mostly focused on tits?
I've noticed with Asian game design with characters it's either tits and/or ass within a feminine figure. For a while it looks like ass was winning as it's a LOT easier to feature a great ass even during gameplay than tits, think of Stellar Blade, Nier Automata or Nikke.
Azur Lane caters to all tastes. Tits, ass, legs. Even feet, if you're into the really degenerate shit.
To put this into perspective, one of the character designs for Kashino got the attention of twitter briefly due to being a cowgirl, and all that implies. It's great.
I don't play it but you don't watch anime without some of it showing up
but from my position its like 99% ass and tiddies
the 1% is the HMS hood who from what I have seen is not overly sexualised in the official artworks (there is the obligatory swimsuit skin) and appears to be treated with some level of respect (the hood was a bit of a figurehead for the royal navy and the loss of the hood was a bit of a blow for morale)
I really want to actually know why the hood is like that now it just seems odd to have this one character in the sea of anime boobs and ass that isn't showing them
Could be the HMS Hood is, for lack of better term, the token 'safe character', like people who enjoy the game it's safe to have her on screen on a commute play session than some of the others.
Maybe but my bet is because the "proper lady" type is its own design trope with its own fans. In stuff like gacha that lives or dies by its enormous roster, there's deliberately always something for everyone. You're going to have minimum one of ever *dere type, you're going to have one of every sock/stocking length, you're going to have the a range from unapproachable noblewoman to thirsty slut, loli to milf, the whole gamut of washboard to "how is she not falling over?" and every personality quirk you can think of.
That's just the way these kind of franchises are. A waifu for every taste.
could be, thing is I have seen conversations where people point out areas where they do pay attention to historical detail (as they turn battleships into anime waifus) so I doubt its by accident
Considering azur lane is one of the best gacha games since you can get every single character (who isn't a crossover event character that won't be rerun) for free without worrying about running out if the freemium currency; the game is so well managed that even if she was a figurehead she is doing a good job.
Azur Lane is one of the only mobile games I’ve regularly played for a few years now. As gacha games go it’s never felt super gross or impossible to get the rarest characters or special event characters.
If you've seen some of the recent skins, some of which are almost borderline and THEN keep in mind she probably had to be okay with it it's quite astounding. Nowadays female CEO means ugly chick that hates men and anything fun. Not so in Asia it seems.
I'm a fan of KanColle and AzurLane and have played both games, but whenever the Manjuu CEO and her "genius" is brought up, I will always make the point:
"AzurLane owes it's existence to Kancolle's initial popularity"
If DMM/Kadokawa weren't assholes by leaving money on the table, as well as if jellyroll Tanaka and the team weren't adverse to US/foreign ships, KanColle could have been a farther reaching, long-term success. Not taking advantage of it nearly unseating Touhou's popularity in Japanese weebspace was a big financial mistake. Granted, leaving things niche is what has allowed it to retain some of it's appeal, and it hadn't really reached that deep into Western weeb circles, arguably sparing it from the bullshit flung at AL. However, as of now, the devs keep making each subsequent event harder for the lulz and ruining the game.
All that was required of AL was taking KC's concept and making it sexier to appeal to coomers while making a fuckton of non-Japanese ships missing from KC. Anyone with some resources (In this case, the Chinese/Hong Kongers) could have done this, but I've run across cultish fans who won't admit it. The irony is that there's more concentrated fanart from KC fans, whereas for AL fans there's maybe 10% of characters that are still popular while a bunch are "girl of the month" and most disappear, being forgotten. And the designs have gotten so out of hand, you can't really pick more than 5 decent girls without asking "is this actually a ship?", ignoring the ship rigging

It's mostly tits. Some ass. Very rarely feet because some German ships will step on you.

aha, so it's a porno game for porno addicts.
They run popularity polls every couple years, these were the results from 2023: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VowYGMCh3gw

if you compare her to the bismarck https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/Bismarck or if i just hit random page until i find another ship the HMS suffolk https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/Suffolk

The reason all the British carriers have enormous heaving M cups is because they had armored flight decks.

A gatcha mobile game where historical fighting ships are anthropomorphized as cute anime waifus.
chinese kancolle knockoff
I wish that helped.

The splash art power creep is really funny but as long as they keep putting out boats with big knockers I will keep chasing 100% completion.
I could be wrong, but I think Unzen has the largest official CG. The size of her backing is insane.
Hot, smart and a CEO? How can I meet her and make her my wife ^_^
