I know most people here aren't massive retards about this, but one of the reasons I've been looking into the motorbike game is because there are far more vehicles out there that are extremely simple to repair potentially by myself and everything is analogue. I'm not that bad when it comes to vehicles and yes I do know that most vehicles currently do not rely on an internet connection DRM style to keep operational as of yet, but that may start changing soon as they keep pushing green agenda nonsense.
However with what we've seen being done to planes I'm going to play it completely safe because the elites are retarded they're probably going to be pushing people to buy electronic vehicles and this will have all kinds of ways to track your positional data as you're travelling through the country. So I'm just putting out a general PSA in that I wouldn't even get a vehicle that has digital display because that's one extra thing to go wrong that you're not going to be able to fix. Imagine having to ride several miles away just to get fuel and you realise you're fucked because an EMP device or something knocked out your digital display so you don't even know how much fuel you have lolz.
If your concern is an EMP, then you're going to want a carburetor. Fuel gauges have been electronic for ages, I can't think of a mechanical fuel gauge system that displays on the dash.
Ironically since you mention planes, if you're concerned about that level of resilience, you want an old plane. Carburetor, magneto, steam gauges, and you can typically easily dip the tanks for fuel level. They rely on electronics for almost nothing. Also still available in operable condition.
If you're concerned about EMPs, you will want your own massive fuel tank that is gravity fed. Fuel pumps at the gas stations won't be working any more either.
I almost put in my first comment, instead of the "If your concern is an EMP," that I'm really not concerned with EMPs at all. The chance of something like that happening combined with the mass chaos that would ensue, if you really wanted to prepare you'd be better off with a rifle and a horse than relying on some sort of mechanical devices that require fuel.
Horses might seem like a good idea but at the end of the day they're living animals and horses especially do take a ridiculous amount of effort sometimes to take care of. I think of a bike precisely because the most you really have to worry about is part replacement and fuel but it's very minimal as well compared to a car which you'd have to do all sorts to repair.
There's also the fact that a horse can buck and bolt off if it gets scared enough and all other sorts of factors so they're not as great as they seem with the options we have now. Especially if there's gunshots happening around you, you think a horse is going to be chill with that getting set off constantly? lol nah you're fucked if it starts panicking.
Will look into that thanks, I don't think we'll necessarily see a proper hot WW3 if we're lucky enough that Trump gets elected and doesn't get killed but it always pays to be prepared for a worse case scenario. I suppose I'll be happy as long as it works in any kind of electronic warfare, could maybe have a look at some kind of other methods at checking the fuel if it could potentially be that much of a problem. lol maybe I don't even need to be that fancy and there's some kind of measuring stick available like with oil now I think about it more.
the power and electronic-destruction potential of EMPs, even from nuclear detonations are vastly blown out of proportion. you'll be fine.
Completely pointless. Unless you are sitting on your own private gas station or have an oil rig in your back yard where you can distill your own diesel, any ICE vehicle is going to be dead weight after the first week of an EMP attack.
EMP I wouldn't be too worried about currently, on a large scale it requires a nuclear detonation in which case the first priority is how FAR you are from the detonation..
The other way is one completely out of our hands which is a solar flare in which case, millions will die. It's like living next to fault line, you may get some warning but not enough if you're in the wrong place wrong time
Electronic warfare is WAY higher on the list, too much is easily accessible remotely. People with keyless entry cars are getting jacked a lot by smart car thieves. And too much western infrastructure is vulnerable.
I'd just get an older Toyota Hilux, if the country of Chad and Top gear taught me anything that vehicle is extremely reliable, fast, can carry heavy loads and defeat a despotic regime..
I would get a Land Cruiser but yeah. Actually I may get one as my wife's grocery-getter because I dislike boring cars.
Just remember, mounted weapons sold separately
I would buy one with a winch and a lift already from somebody.
I've had my eye on a Mahindra Roxor, which is basically the old WWII-era Wiley's Jeep design with some very slight modern upgrades. Legally they're classified as an off-road utility vehicle, so they don't have to do all the emissions and safety crap that modern cars/trucks have to.
I fear the decline of the west will continue to be boring and slow. Just hyperinflation and increasingly crazy laws.
But yeah a simple dirt bike is an excellent escape vehicle, as some uhh... youth with abundant melanin have demonstrated.
I'm busy enough trying to learn to plant foods and make clothes by hand. Repairing simple machines is far down by apocalypse honey do.
Just because the apocalypse is going to happen doesn't mean we have to resign ourselves to living like medieval peasants.
I know I'm fighting for medieval aristocracy personally.
What about a technologically advanced imperial state? Blessed be the machine spirits.
Doesn't matter, I'm banking on being a toadie man, man.
I have an old Honda CB400. The starter is electric but you can still kick start it. I bought it when I lived in the middle of no where rural rust belt US. All roads were two lane and there was no traffic, riding felt safe.
I've moved and pretty much never ride now. I live in a small town but there is enough traffic to make me think twice. I take it out a few times a year and keep it maintained but riding it day to day would be suicidal.
I know you've mentioned moving to the country side or another country entirely but consider your area and traffic patterns before getting a bike. If you do decide to get one look in to dual sport types. I recommend Honda or Suzuki as they are cheap, parts are easy to get since they are so popular, and can be found in nearly every country.
I saw a comment on /pol/ a while back about crowd funding a warehouse to stock a ton of older Corollas, Civics, F-150s for the exact reason you mentioned. It really doesn't seem like a bad idea.
As far as EMPs, as someone in this thread said, I'd be more worried about the nuke that comes first.
Edit to add: If you've never ridden a bike before just get a Hayabusa, you'll be fine.
Believe it or not with the bike I'm probably going to play it extremely safe, I grew up in Bradford so don't worry I know how to read traffic very well. I just need something that I can buzz around in so a low cc scooter is going to suit me just fine. If I'm really thinking the apocalypse will come along then yeah dirt bike, it's hilarious how cheap the bikes are.
I'm likely picking a 50cc scooter just because I won't shoot myself in the foot with insurance costs and like you point out bikes in general are very cheap when it comes to parts etc. if I do end up leaving permanently it will be very easy to have it shipped. I think I'm going ahead with this as a realistic plan because I am going to save a fortune on insurance as it turns out.
An extra plus point is that I could buy another bike and declare it SORN ( Yes, you need to do that in the UK Americans even if you're not driving it and just storing it ) and I can store it on my property no problem. Have that as a backup like I'm a fucking GTA player.
A lot of motorbikes are fuel injection which have the same problems as cars and the cheap china engines that you can stick on push bikes are 2 strokes which means you need oil mixed with the fuel unless there's small diesel engines like that or 4 strokes.

You guys are very technical- its my understanding that all modern cars are drive/steering/brake by wire. When you brake the command goes over the CANBUS to the brakes.
And as you say they can potentially be hacked…. The ideal car will help you escape when shit hits the fan. Not burden you further…
lol it's the autism :D yes, this is something I've been thinking about a lot and it's because the normies lap this shit up and don't understand just how easy it is to fuck with all this high tech equipment.
I don't have anything like this in my house for that reason, the most I have is a smart meter which came with it and the government can and likely will just that down and attempt to render my house unusable whenever they feel like it. The whole goal with the government pushing this is to make it so they can immobilise entire sections of a city with the flick of a switch potentially and of course they'll have glowie ops on specific individuals who will just hack into their vehicles exactly how they do in that video and that's an excellent proof of concept that I'm not being paranoid.
The smart meter is admittedly convenient, which is why they're pushing for it. The other manual way of doing it is retarded and you have to enter in a number every time on the company website and you don't even know if it's necessarily accurate. So what I'm also going to be doing is preparing off grid solutions if they do target my area or me they can't do shit. Plumbing should still work fine, so that shouldn't really be an issue.
It's one of the reasons I'm weighing up leaving because it would be annoying having to abandon the property outright since it's really nice where I am and I even have a proper garden that's giving me food every year now. I'm in a much better position than most people for a full collapse, it depends on how bad things get. Ideal scenario is I just go on very lengthy holidays abroad and check stuff out and passport hop about the place.
I don't understand why even retards would want electronics that use, let alone are reliant on, Wifi.
