Honestly, the rainbow hijack was almost certainly intentional. They've taken the natural beauty and serenity of the color spectrum and forcibly tied it to their degeneracy by association. As per their MO, they've actively worked to mar genuine beauty.
It's more than that. In Christian (and therefore Western) tradition, the rainbow is a symbol of God's promise to never destroy the earth again with a flood. By choosing the rainbow as a symbol of their faggotry, they are consciously flaunting their sin and spitting in the face of God.
Whether or not you are a Christian (or even deist at all), you have to understand just how much these people hate God and Christian morality, and how openly they display that hatred. And more than that, too many people just rolled over and accepted their redefinition, and stopped using it themselves without anyone even asking them too.
