The problem is that making something of oneself is highly correlated with IQ, so this effect is limited by the statistical IQ distribution of the immigrant population in question. That's why Hispanics still overwhelmingly vote Democrat despite some positive movement and courting blacks is a fool's errand. Then by the third generation you have the problem of successful parents raising coddled little shits who think the world owes them a living, making Democrat race communism appealing again. We're seeing that with Asians right now.
All that said you're absolutely correct when you say the importing "traditional" minorities isn't the solution. The GOP has been fantasizing about flipping Hispanics since at least Bush 43, and like I said successful Asian parents are raising coddled little shits that turn into antifags.

Beyond that, Trump's coalition has made significant gains among urban voters. The value of this is to strike a the heart of Leftist power. Winning every county in Illinois except counties around Chicago doesn't win Illinois. But winning every county in Illinois, and cutting Dem votes by 20% or 30% in Chicago wins you the state.

Trump actually improved with White women in 2020 versus in 2016.
The one demographic that Trump got less in 2020 vs 2016 was college educated White men.
