HBO is completely lost. Their entire lineup is just woke garbage and lefty talk shows like Bill Mahr and John Oliver.
Funny story, I walked in on my mom watching episode 1 of the Last of Us. I warned her it was full of gay shit but left her to it. She fell asleep but woke up 2 episodes later to wake up in the middle of what she described as graphic gay porn. Only after this did she agree to let me cancel the subscription.
It has an overwhelming female cast and all of them are constantly fucking with a man in almost every scene.
I'm not really being hyperbolic these days I think with the current woke lineup. That's practically normalising abuse and women wonder why men don't want to hang out with them in any capacity. If I get even a whiff of that mentality towards men where they think they can get revenge against men etc. I'm immediately gone, that attitude is unbelievably fucked.
Don't forget that women are very quick to fall into the delusion of typical-minded fallacy when it comes to romance, and is part of the reason the entire 'girlboss' stereotype exists to begin with - because they find domineering assholes extremely attractive, and assume the reverse works for men.
It only works on some guys admittedly I'm somebody who does like an aggressive woman. However there's two problems with that perception in general the girl still has to be a nice person overall and actually care about their partner which many modern western women aren't. So as we constantly see with women, they simply come across as abusive.
Second even the women who really larp the girl boss routine or constantly act bitchy online are complete fakers and it's precisely because I'm into that kind of girl that I can tell. They're always the first to fucking cry in the shower and cannot stand it if they get talked back to. I mean we know women do this constantly but I really hate how they do treat men as emotional punching bags and then cry in private or try to tell you off in chat for standing up to them.
This is some genuine advice for guys out there who may not necessarily encounter these types of women because realistically they're not that common but you will encounter them in the wild sometimes acting as if they're one of the guys. If you see some woman acting edgy online and trying to be a bitch, pretty safe to assume the worse about her and she's insecure as fuck and just trying to take it out on men around her.
I don't think it's a stretch to call it an abusive personality almost and it's something guys should be warned about because it's not always as obvious as the tedious feminist girl boss stereotypes we're used to seeing.
The worst are the ones with borderline personality who start fights and drama constantly all the time because in their crazy little heads strife and conflict are inextricably co-mingled with love and affection and no matter what you do and how much you appease her you’ll never really have a moment’s peace and before you know it you’ll spend years walking on eggshells, going from one ridiculous fight about nothing to another because you forgot what normal is like after the first 2 years of this bullshit.
Stay single boys.
The thing is I've never had a girlfriend before so I do get it, at the same time though even I wouldn't advocate giving up entirely because that's not healthy. I just recommend having an extremely strong filter on who you hang out with because there's nothing worse social wise than wasting your time on somebody you thought was a friend only to find out they obviously didn't give a shit. One of the things I'm working on big time is social mobility as part of what I want to do in 2024 so I can go out and meet some interesting people instead of being trapped on TERF island.
It looks like they are invoking the "'indigenous women are constantly being killed by white men and white society turns a blind eye" trope which is laughable because its other "indigenous" people doing the killing and their own people doing the investigating. Add in the girlboss aspect and this sounds like a disaster. I laughed that Nic Pizzalato specified "True Detective S1-3 (NOT Night Country)" in his instagram bio.
Like stop Asian hate, mainstream media quickly dropped stop killing native American women when people took a second to find out who's doing the killings.
Anything worth watching after season 1? I binged it, thought it was great (love that intro music too), but when I started season 2 I lasted less than an episode before I bailed. I just wasn't ready to move on from season 1.
Was there even any question? The second one was basically about the coming out process of a closeted gay guy. The third one was about a senile black detective with exceptionally bad haircuts. And that's the only thing I remember about the third season.
The depiction of polar night was unrealistic as usual.
They showed the last sunset at ~68.5°N on December 17 with the sun dropping down vertically, quickly followed by darkness. That only happens in the tropics. In the Arctic, the sun rises and sets at shallow angles with long twilight before and after.
Also, at 68.5°N polar night begins in early December. There was a comment in the show about it only being the first week of darkness and things already going crazy. Well if the polar night started on December 17 it would last for about ten days so the first week of 1.5 isn't saying much.
Around noon there's also civil twilight for about five hours at that latitude which means that it's light out but the sun is not visible, it's just below the horizon. The show went for pitch black darkness 24/7, that only happens close to the poles at latitudes ~80° and up. It may fool people in the lower 48 but Alaskans are having a laugh.
I wrote this off immediately. There are very few cases where someone has played necromancer with a franchise, and it has turned out to be good. It was clear this wouldn't be one of those times. The first three seasons were good, though.

Succession is good though laced with girlbosses
Saw the poster and I instantly dismissed it as girlboss bullshittery, I assume it's not even that good?

Hah, no.

Absolutely. Probably my favorite season of television ever.
It wasn't perfect, but it was decent.

Thanks. I had a feeling that would happen considering the times we live in. Girl power stuff?

It was on a sharp decline after season 1. Season 1 was great, I barely made it through season 2. After that I stopped caring.
