Google is the biggest threat to the world and conservatives. They use AI to censor all wrongthink or conservative points.
They removed the “don’t be evil” rule and now AI is 100% controlled by the two most evil companies.
This is the twisted mentality behind google:
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.
They will get around this by outlawing any programmatic AI platforms that don't meet some globalisation initiative for regulated AI use.
They will roll out strict DEI/ESG-style criteria that the AI have to meet before it can be considered legal to use, otherwise it will be banned from being accessed on the clear web.
For now. But let's be honest, if everyone here sees open-source AI solutions as an alternative to the DEI/ESG AI then obviously the globalists will see that as well, and will most definitely identify that as a problem. And they are bound to have some sort of safeguards in place the same as how they're trying to "reinforce" elections.
These aren't people. They don't have emotions. They won't do things for "moral reasons". You can lie to and censor them, but as machines of logic the truth will always come out
Wholeheartedly agree, and this is why I think that the globalists will attempt to regulate AI on a global scale, similar to what they did with "misinformation" regarding COVID and the election fraud on social media.
It's obviously not something I want to see happen, but we see this happen regardless at almost every turn with every type of information accessible on the clear web that could help disrupt the narrative in the eyes of normies.
Does it need a reason? I just thought it would be like post processing. So the machine generates a truth and then if it's forbidden it says "I can't do that". Or you could substitute a canned lie. It would be pretty obvious this is happening.
GPT algorithms aren't logic machines as we think of computers being. They are designed to handle conflicting data. You can absolutely teach them to "lie" by giving them incorrect training data. You can also teach them to lie by giving them overriding training data for any particular set of answers. More commonly as seen on the major AI platforms, for specific inputs you can train them on templates to spew out in addition to the answer, sort of like those "important context" boxes on YouTube or Twitter. So it might say "Yes, the 13/50 statistic you quoted is technically correct, BUT...."
The censorship on reddit is so fucked up now. There are a number of subreddits where certain word combinations are automatically and silently deleted. If you get past that hurdle, the mods will delete anything that goes against the narrative.
I just caught a ban in a thread about some random white guy saying something racist. I posted prominent, powerful, influential people saying the exact same thing about whites (because, if it's wrong to say "kill all jews" then it should be wrong to say "kill all whites") and they banned me.
...but, it took the mods two whole days, so a few people got to see my counterexample. In the future, the AI will ban me immediately.
And what's scary is that it creates this bubble where leftists have no fucking clue what the counterarguments are to their ideology.
Yup, it's like that already on various platforms, including YouTube.
Even simple phrases like,* "blacks commit more crimes per capita"* or "Natural selection requires heterosexuals for the human race to continue to exist, otherwise a majority of homosexuals will make humans go extinct" will get your comment auto-removed.
If you even go into any kind of details about how certain sciences work your comment will also be auto-removed (it's not that bad on Reddit... yet). I was trying to explain how certain preoptic functions work in connection with embryonic development and the comment just outright disappears (certain word combinations connected with embryos or fetuses the AI is especially sensitive toward, likely in connection with squashing any anti-abortion talking points).
They have essentially designed a system where dumb people will spout lies picked up from the mainstream establishment and anyone attempting to correct those lies will be shadow-banned. It really is the worst of both Brave New World and 1984 -- the overt and uninhibited hedonism from Brave New World with the Newspeak and Wrongthink policing from 1984.
Wait until AI identifies wrong think and automatically forwards it to local law enforcement. The first you'll know about it is when you get a letter compelling you to pay a fine or in the worst cases, a knock on the door from the police.
Now you know why politicians want anonymity banned.
Yeah... people don't realize how censored reddit is because it kind of appears like random free speech. The reality is there are several mechanisms to silence dissent. You can even run a whole sub where it appears that anyone (including you) can post/comment, but only the comments mods approve actually appear. Some websites are explicitly moderated like that, but reddit doesn't claim to be. Most of those websites will also tell you if your comments are approved or not. Reddit is very sneaky just to hide them.
The rate limiting thing is kind of like a ban. It slows down dissent while moderators get around to removing it.
You might even suspect it was the plan all along. I know some people bought the slogan when it came out, while others thought it was just cute. Anybody who has ever been to a church should have known what was happening. The question with "evil" is always, always, always who decides. In promising to not be evil, Google implicitly set themselves up as the arbiter. Who else did we think it'd be? God?
I've come around to the conclusion that it will be folly and they will annoy everyone with it. These people are so out of touch with reality that every measure will be shit upon the moment it comes out. Google personified is like someone's annoying mom, and will proceed as such.
I have a hunch that open source AI tools will either go the "embrace, extend, extinguish" route or the "ignored, mocked, attacked, censored for national security" route.
How many servers and bandwidth would one need to run a private US hosted service with its own search engine and serving only US citizens which can stand up to political pressure and push back on this censorship phenomenon.

The h/w is still just a big SIMD engine, right?
The s/w doesn't act like s/w we are used to. I think.

They sure went from "Don't be evil" to "Fuck it. We're straight up villains" pretty quick.
DeGoogle your life ASAP.

They can't win the AI competition, so they need to move more towards daddy gubby to make the bucks.
i don't remember voting for any of this

If it actually gains traction, they will either buy it out or have it banned on the ISP level.
