If I had money to burn by the truckload, I would offer to pay all the legal fees for someone who steps up. Even if we'd lose a lawsuit we'd still raise awareness and make the university have to pay legal fees too; and I'd appeal all the way to the Supreme Court. And if they rule against us, it would send shockwaves through those paying any attention.

Meritocracy is discrimination against those without it. The goal of marxists it to move decision making from objective criteria to subjective criteria that they control.
Merit is subjective and skin color is relatively objective, so I'd argue it's not about objectivity vs subjectivity. It's simply about bias toward leftism. If this school had two applicants, a Jewish communist and a black conservative, they'd happily hire the "white" person.
The criteria which constitute merit is can be more subjective or more objective depending on the domain. The same with how those criteria are assessed. But the idea that more subjective and more objective measurements are equivalent is one of the characteristics of postmodern marxism.
Test scores are more objective than "personality" assessments, assuming all applicants are given the same tests. The gay commies want to move everything away from measurements that everyone can see to those entirely determined by their judgement, because that means they have absolute power over the outcomes.
It’s like listening in to Morning Joe (my extended family watches everyday) and they consistently talk about how awful it is that JEWISH women were raped by Hamas fighters and “how could the world not care?!”
Yet these same people will overlook all of the European women and children who have been raped by Muslim invaders for decades or even worse look at you with such disgust for disparaging Muslims. They will treat you like deranged lunatics for bringing something like that up.
The Jews have been taking their post-WWII privileged status for granted for decades and the Jewish children are spitting in the faces of white people who won’t kill them for their religion at this time.
