Fun fact: this is common in charities, most of which are just grifts where the employees enrich themselves with exorbitant salaries and help themselves to a bottomless pit of petty cash for "work" expenses. NGOs are just end-boss charities.

Yup, I haven't checked them for like 10 years but there are whole agencies that rate charities by how corrupt they are, or to be more precise, how much of the money they get actually ends up going to the people they claim to be helping. These days I wouldn't expect such agencies to not be corrupt themselves, though. However, the last time I checked, the majority of charities spent the majority of their money on themselves.

And they are if they were real charities. Most “charities” don’t even have non-profit codes that you can follow the paper trail.

On top of supposedly not donating and keeping over $600K in the bank, it seems that his family is using the charity to fudge some numbers and is pocketing at least 10s of thousands every year based on just some conservative estimates. This situation went from "oh that's quite odd but they can address that" to "oh that's actually criminal" in just two weeks. Life comes at you fast.

I'm stunned they didn't think anyone would ever check.

The wild part is that if they'd made sure the donations matched the tax returns, no one would have ever batted an eye.

It's shockingly consistent how many of these goony beard men just turn out to be scumbags in one way or another. Either it's sexual abuse, violent tendencies, or it's low moral fibre to just outright scam people through the guise of charity of all things.

Jirard chose his side based on his morals. He lacks morals. What does that tell you about those he supports?

If you're so impulsive you can't resist the urge to raid the fridge at night how can you resist the urge to make out that oversized charity check to yourself instead of the starving kids.

A Tom Fitton doesn't guarantee your money will make it to the needy, but a fat slob is a good sign it won't.

Confiscate their assets and deport the family. Problem solved.

Karl, Coffeezilla and Kitboga should collaborate and create the ultimate scam busing team.
