I hadn't thought about it until reading this title, but in an age with AI generated imagery, you won't need to exploit a real child to make CP. That certainly won't stop it happening, but my broader thought is that possession is potentially going to be harder to catch if you don't have to use real people to create it.
That would be the logical reasoning.
Doesn't work like that everywhere, for instance in Australia just written text describing two fictional under age characters engaging in a sexual act is considered CP.
That was the excuse used, yes, but now it has a life of it's own. Just like FCC censorship was originally enabled because the airwaves are finite public space, and now we just accept them as our moral arbiters. The power of the ring is not so easily undone.
but the world isn't ready for that conversation yet
Considering how heated discussions over fictional ones go, I don't think it will ever be ready. The intelligence of the average human hasn't evolved enough to be capable of compartmentalization and focus solely on "not bringing physical harm to children". Even if a solution means no living child will be or has been harmed, the average person will still come to the same conclusion based in short-circuited logic, "indulging in a vice that harms the self -> potential threat to others". Of course, there will always be pedos that will still go after children, so heavy measures will probably always be taken.
As per FrozeInFear's comment you're replying to, I fully expect people to go apeshit over AI-generated CP as more realize its potential, and equate it to being the same as if a child was exploited, like with the sex dolls you mentioned.
What's disgusting is that we're absolutely ready to have that conversation if the freak getting off has alphabet mafia protection. It's only when the pedo is outside that cult do people have a problem with it.
Well, sure. If someone can determine a way to identify and kill all pedophiles on the planet without accidentally killing someone who isn't, I'd be good with that too.
I'd also really like to open my sock drawer and find $5M in cash ready to spend.
nowadays they expose themselves for brownie points... when you see shit like gays and dykes going on danish tv shows to twirl their dicks at audiences of kids and your worry is "maybe we should give them child porn to stop them from progressing to molestation?" instead of "maybe we should choose a .22LR to the temple to be more efficient?" something is wrong with you.
this "WE CANT FIND THE PEDOS THEY ARE SPEC OPS CHILD RAPISTS" shit is a retarded cope and i suspect everyone like you is either addicted to underage japanese hentai or paid to be this much of a pedophile supporter.
With all of the video and 3D being created I wouldn't be surprised if it happens quickly. This is especially hard to control because AI doesn't actually know what it is creating. I have seen topless stuff on MidJourney because of Hallucination from the prompt. How do you even deal with that?
You don't criminalize something based on what it could progress to though. That's the argument they use in trying to get rid of guns. Something needs to be illegal or not on its own merits.
I mean, yeah, it's probably just an intentional slippery slope. But I never thought that looking at pictures should be considered a crime, even if they're horrible pictures. Same with creating something fictional. I remember someone being prosecuted for drawing underage Simpsons characters having sex or whatever. I thought that was unjust then, and I think it's unjust now.

Stephen King had better stay in the northern hemisphere if he knows what's good for him.
Alan Moore too.

No idea, but it could be. If so, it would somewhat support the argument of lowering punishment for possession.
Correct, and it's why loli is expressly NOT CP according to the law.
That argument was tried with sex dolls molded to look like children and I think like a dozen or so states now have laws against it.
I like kids not getting victimized more than I dislike pedophiles being happy, but the world isn't ready for that conversation yet.

i like pedophiles being dead more than i like them being happy, but we're past the era where any sense needs to dictate our decision-making.

It's a feature not a bug.
So leftists going free as usual?

Exactly - groomers trying to normalize CP.
Pedophiles already get away with that if they have certain factors on their side.
This was tried sort of in the 70's and backfired.
What's really interesting is that it feels like all of the politics from the 70s that were stopped are being renewed today.
Tradition is a set of solutions for which we have forgotten the problems. Throw away the solution and you get the problem back.
Which is why you make sure the problem isn't there anymore if you break tradition.
Frankly I don't care how long feminist drivel has been around I want it thrown out regardless. "Tradition" or no.
Degeneracy knows no upper limit
I agree with this actually.

Let's have some of these bureaucrats come out on camera and support this, so we have some future warning of the perps.
Anyone suggesting this needs to be investigated and promptly take care of ASAP.
Who would argue there shouldn't be severity criteria? The latter ( child rapists ) should be executed, the former ( CP ) jailed.
Their wording has the distinct MAP / Pedo apologist ring to it.
Good grief. The slippery slope continues to be slippery and society keeps shrugging their shoulders and sliding down.
Is this about like anime weebs?
