If we were still talking about Ukraine, we’d have to acknowledge that Russia has handily won the war. Acknowledging this reality would clash with the last few years of insane propaganda, which would in turn further undermine trust in western institutions. So the play is to drop Ukraine coverage like a bad habit and pivot to Israel.
