This might be a good thing, and let me explain why.

One, it shows that they're clearly utterly fucking desperate for competent soldiers, and they realized all the diversity hires have basically fucked them over should they get into an actual shooting war.

Two, seventy fucking percent of military recruits have a family member in the armed forces

There's alot of reasons why people don't want to join the military, but I'd be a good fucking chunk of it basically come down to all those family members convincing the younger generation otherwise.

The military has basically fucked that sheep, and it's going to take along, long while until they're no longer known as the sheep-fuckers amoung those who'd be doing the serious work during serious times.

Or maybe I'm just huffing copium, I dunno.

(As an aside, my boss is a navy vet and he fucking loathes Biden. I'm pretty spicy at times, and he's normally really chill, but even he made me step back and raise an eyebrow or two when the topic of Biden came up. Take that for what it's worth.)

I haven't met a "proud" Vet in a long time who isn't a fucking great-grandparent by this point. All the more recent ones are coming back limping into the VA with crippling disabilities, or such an insane hate for the government it would get them banned off every channel if they let it out.

The prestige and honor is running out as all the old grandpa's who inspired the last few decades worth are dying out, and are being replaced by a walking billboard for how awful an idea it is.

I've met a few under 40. One served in the Navy and basically holds the opinion that US agencies can totally be trusted to at least have the country's long-term survival as its priority. He's always been a bit of a normie twerp though. Tried "calling me out" on me not being on board with respecting trannies once.

A gigantic faggot? In the Navy?

Unheard of.

He isn’t a normie then. He had a few “girl penis” when he was on deployment.

"It's not gay under way, it's only queer on the pier!"

"The ship leaves with X sailors, and comes back with X/2 happy couples!"

In this case, no, he's just a total normie who always follows popular trends. Only plays trending games (usually as soon as it comes out), has almost no unique interests or pursuits of his own, etc. etc.

I've met a lot of veterans through drug treatment. Proud isn't the word I'd use, either. Well, obviously these ones were broken at some point, but they weren't GI Joe. ONe guy just said he was an infantryman, went to Iraq, the whole 9 yards, there were body parts everywhere, and he started drinking back home for lack or purpose and due to PTSD. I say one guy, but that's basically everyone's story.

These people aren't proud that they went over and fucked up other poor people. Mainly, they went where they were told and tried not do die, because who would you attack exactly? The enemy hides and blows you up with IEDs; snipes at you. The closer they actually were to war on the ground (as opposed to sitting at a desk) it seems like the worse regret they have. Maybe regret isn't the right word.

Right. Its not like WW1/2 vets were coming back happy and functional. But they were still able to cope with their scars and disfunctions by having some pride in what they did or accomplished. Even some of the Korean and Nam ones had something like that to fall back on, even with the losses and forgottenness of their time.

All the boys now are limping back and realizing they sold their bodies to the government for nothing more than a shitty paycheck and some weak benefits. Nothing to show for it otherwise.

I got to see it first with my friends, since we were about 18 on 9/11 and then like I said with other veterans of various generations. The only one I still know in there is counting the days until he can retire with a full pension.

Going to the VA is their second chance to die for their country.

Unfortunate.. you will be sent into battle by incompetent diversity officers that hate you for your gender or race. OPERATION stand behind the darkies... but in reverse.

I mean, that would require me being drafted, and I don't see that going well for anyone.

Plus, if there's one thing I've learned from all the ex-military guys I know, if they don't want to do something, good fucking luck seeing it get done.

If they were dumb enough to implement the draft now across the west, I think a lot of people would be shocked at the reaction.

My impression has been that they've known it wouldn't work ever since Vietnam or whatever. Not so much that people would resist but that they'd be pressing into service people who are incapable of the job.

I have an in-law who is an Army recruiter at the moment. He posts the spiciest anti-Biden memes, I'm surprised he hasn't been article 15ed. 🤣

It isn’t a good thing. They’ll stick all whities at the front line and give the medals and promotions to the lame and gay.
