An aquaintance of mine recently died pretty young and it got me to thinking.

What if we're put on this Earth, full of suffering and injustice, for a reason and, once we've accomplished our task, we get to die?

This guy I knew was perfectly satisfied going to his death, although it was tragic and painful, because he'd led a good life. He was survived by his father, who had a pretty questionable past.

Make you think...

That's largely in part due to what the Batman meme puts forth.

Die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.

The less time you have the fewer opportunities to fuck up and be remembered for said fuck ups.

Give anyone enough time and there will be more and more chances for something to happen which leads them down the path to villainy, a concept that can be quite subjective anyway.

Look at Darwin, by the time he was old he had lost children due to reasons and no longer had the religious faith of his youth. That lack/loss of faith at the time would be/wasenough for some to label Darwin as a "villain" in the form of an apostate. For what? Having his children die through no fault of his own? Life sucks for many and the longer anyone lives the more it can suck as bad things happen to them and theirs including death. It all takes a toll and builds up to a breaking point.

Similarly, dying young can ironically immortalise someone's appearance. Marilyn Monroe will always be thought of as beautiful because she never had the opportunity to age, gracefully or otherwise. All the "Club 27" members of celebs who died at that age are the same, remembered forever looking young because they are never going to look old.

Sid Vicious is a even more classic example. He died so young that he never got the chance to fuck up any part of why people liked him, or even get remotely big enough to begin to "sell out" like all his similar names get accused of.

Even a few more months could have tainted his legacy, so him dying that young is how a garbage musician living a self destructive life could have a "legacy" instead of just being a forgettable former band member of some band.

Perhaps death is actually a good thing.

At a certain point, yes. No matter how good a life someone has eventually their body will fail. Spending however many of their last final years incapable of doing things that were previously possible will cause significant problems, and the more years that turns out to be the worse those problems will turn out for all involved, up to and including the poor fucker driving the vehicle someone throws themself infront of.

This is why the sick obsession with keeping bags of skin alive despite having no life (never mind "quality" of life) is another well-intentioned evil.

It would get pretty crowded without it.

Hot take: I appreciate that there are people in Western countries celebrating these attacks because it reminds us all that there are always two sides in every conflict and both of them think they're right.

Why is this evil shitbag still alive and why is anyone airing his opinions?

Justice would be tipping him out of his limo on Sun Alley in Berlin.
