I'd have less sympathy of the Palestinian civilians if they could actually leave Gaza and live somewhere else, but they can't. It's a massive prison. However, I am not gonna lie and say they bring a lot to the table. Nobody wants that mass of mouths. Whoever takes them is asking for an epic shit show. So... it's not an easy ask.
I'd have more sympathy for the Israeli if they did less provoking, subterfuge, and sabotage.
