what if I told you it was both. that porn addiction demotivates young men from pursuing relationships, while at the same time the law makes any kind of relationship a massive liability.
Porn is a symptom of the problem. That's not to say that it doesn't feed back into the problem, but if female hypergamy were kept in check and the divorce laws were fixed then porn would be a nonissue.
What is the women problem? Women bad? Okay imp. You can whine and complain but the truth is a small minority of men in history ever lived long enough to succeed in reproducing and continuing their family. This is no different.
If you want to hide in a hole wracking off to porn and crying about how hard it is to find a woman you're a loser. And when you die your entire family line ends with you. Imagine your male ancestors who fought wars and famine to have a family and you complain cause Stacy won't swipe on your tinder profile.
That falls under fixing divorce laws. You restore the wife's duty to put out and enforce it by allowing the husband to leave without having his life destroyed if she doesn't. I don't think that's how fault based divorce worked back when it was a thing, but the only way to fix the system is to start applying contract law to what's essentially a contract. Someone here suggested the abolishing family courts and having civil law courts handle family law, and it's such a good idea that I've been running with it ever since.
Porn addictions dont' always come from a lack of sex from the wife, though. Or, sometimes there's a good reason for a drought, and men may get into it at that point while experiencing trouble later.
I didn't deny that porn feeds back into the problem, I just don't think it causes the problem in the first place. Most men are going to want to do things with a real woman, and that being unfeasible makes falling down the porn rabbit hole more likely.
Agreed. Porn is the sedative that sooths the sexual itch that drives men to achieve. Your brain is tricked into thinking you're mating with women and leaves you satisfied. But not really, just a partial release and more upset because you aren't any closer to real sexual experience.
You may discover, once you have a girlfriend that you would still watch porn and in time it will cause issues for you.
I'm not saying you should not watch it or that you specifically can't handle it but porn is not without consequence, you can't push that dopamine button every day, multiple times a day and expect not to affect you.
I gave up porn a while ago and it has been for the best.
I'm not advocating for any ban on porn, just that people need to be aware is not without cost.
I'm a property owner now and I'm working hard on my business, I'm not going to let some bipolar slut come along and ruin all of that just to satisfy myself.
And there it is. based on the sentence, I would guess that your romantic needs feel satisfied enough that you don't feel the need to pursue women. Porn artificially induces this. With that part of your instincts satisfied, you are free to pursue other things.
Let me clarify: this is not a bad thing, but it is a thing.
Exactly. Porn scratches that itch and pushes men back into a hole of lifelessness and apathy. It's no surprise that coomers are among the most nihilistic depressed people because they watch porn all day and it warps their perception of women entirely and drains them of any motivation to actually have a family.
but they're likely the sort to have personal addiction problems anyway.
Can we dispense with this? Addiction of every sort basically hijacks the same neuro-chemical pathways so it's not "an addictive personality" or whatever bullshit. It's that you got addicted and people relapsing into the same addiction as before but just using a different substance to trigger the same pathways as always.
Now mix in the fact that smart phones, the internet and social media have all basically primed every single member of society to be an addict of some sort and you start to get an idea of just how deep this problem goes.
The viewing of porn is not caused by lack of relationships, nor is it caused by a lack of motivation to pursue a relationship.
People view porn because they are horny and it's easy, simple as.
By releasing sexual tension frequently, people are satisfying a large portion of what drives the pursuit of the opposite sex. it does not eliminate dating, far from it, but it does reduce desperation for a mate.
As stated in another thread, this is not a bad thing. strong relationships have remained, and I would argue have not diminished. people who would not be happy in a relationship no longer seek them.
Men begin using porn before having relationships. When was the first time you looked at porn? Average starting age of consumption in the USA is 10 years old. Boys get hooked on porn way before having relationships with women.

The dailywire is the worst of the lot when it comes to that

Cuz married men never wack it?

No, it would still be an issue. The average age someone views porn is around 10. No one knows WTF hypergamy is at that age.
Porn doesn't affect the brain negatively? Despite countless studies showing that? Porn addict copers here.

Are you going to tell me that nicotine patches cause smoking?
I genuinely am having trouble seeing how this metaphor applies?
To be more specific, your example is correlation not causation. The classical logical fallacy of Non Sequitur: It does not follow.
Do men use porn and then not pursue relationships? Or do men not pursue relationships and then use porn?
Would you be more comfortable with the example: "Wet streets cause rain"?
I see, your logic is flawed then.
