It’s the ultimate in grading on a curve.
Good lord. It was an okay movie, but certainly not an all-time great.
It did give me one of my favorite lines ever, though:
"I am not the king of the world. I am the king of Wakanda."
"end naoh deh king will havb deh strent of deh pentah sdripped eweh!"
It wasn't even a good movie. Almost like it was planned to release around the BLM rigger-riots to maximize White Guilt.
Speaking of bullshit on Rotten Tomatoes, I bookmarked the page for this piece of revisionist history bullshit.

This movie is a brilliant masterpiece in forewarning us in the dangers of allowing black women to have power.
They will enslave you without hesitation and do anything to retain their power.
They couldn't have picked an uglier, more masculine-looking woman to play that part. It was obnoxious having that thing plastered on the front page of Amazon for a month straight whenever I went to the site.
Moore riasting Lindelof will never be not funny
But let's be honest, every current day 'black movie' is an unappealing culture war fiasco. The message is always the same.
You're already rolling your eyes before the trailer starts.
If by meh, you mean a complete clusterfuck that makes even less sense than most marvel movies, yes.
Even the CGI in the final fight manages to look horrible. You'd think if there were one thing an MCU movie could get right, it would be that.
A bit revisionist. The MCU was at its peak at the time and the movie itself was decent. It’s literally finger wagging affluent/suburban/American minorities for pretending that the country’s ghettos somehow aren’t full of terrible and angry poor people. The movie holds up on its own if you don’t muddle it with the “I rooted for killmonger” cringe that swept like all of media.
No, the movie was fucking awful, and everyone in it was retarded.
"they're super advanced... But live in some straw huts"
"they're super peaceful... But decide stuff with trial by combat"
It's all awful, and pretending otherwise means you fell for it.
That’s what I thought. Wayyyy overhyped. I thought Black Panther was better in Civil War. Also they had him playing second fiddle to women as is the custom
A meh-ovie if you will.
What do you call a film with cows in it?
A Moovie.
It's fine for what it is - mindless, flashy action. It's not the cinematic masterpiece that so many people claim it to be.
