Latest 'Facebook Files' Confirm Biden Admin Thinks You're Stupid
The White House put immense pressure on the Big Tech company to limit what Americans were exposed to online.

There's some real gems in here but I'll highlight some of the most egregious.

Emails show Courtney Rowe, then-White House director of strategic communications and engagement for Covid-19 response, praising Facebook in April 2021 for offering the White House suppression data “broken down by region and demographics.” One sentence later, she petitioned the Big Tech company to answer “how do we work with you all to push back on it[?]” because she believed that “if someone in rural Arkansas sees something on FB, it’s the truth.”

Hmm I wonder which demographics the WH asked to suppress...

In April 2021, Biden’s then-Director of Digital Strategy Rob Flaherty also sent Facebook several suppression demands to censor right-wing commentators and publications. According to Flaherty, outlets like the Daily Wire are “polarizing” and not “authoritative news source[s].”

“You wouldn’t have a mechanism to check the material impact?” Flaherty questioned.

Astonishing they put this shit down in writing.

On behalf of the White House, Flaherty even asked Facebook to reduce visibility for the New York Post, which debuted reporting about Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” and Biden family corruption six months earlier.

“I’m curious – NY Post churning out articles every day… What is supposed to happen to that from Policy perspective. Does that article get a reduction, labels?” Flaherty asked the censors.

“We’re keen on what platforms are doing to reduce the spread of bad information, that platforms are not funneling people towards bad content,” Flaherty wrote. “That’s our primary concern.”

Ah, here he knows that it is being recorded and might come out later. Keep it as vague as possible.

The censors at the Silicon Valley giant explained that they couldn’t “remove” every user or post deemed problematic by the White House but eventually agreed to demote certain posts even when the posts did not explicitly violate Facebook’s terms and conditions.

"Hey guys we know this is wrong so we won't do it...but we'll still do it."

Facebook claimed that posts complaining about the “government overreach” of the Biden administration’s Covid jab mandates were reduced because they fed a “vaccine negative environment.”

all technocrats do, if they didn't they wouldn't be trying to "manage" everything

no shit, that's what they all think. the entire political class has some of the strongest cases of the graduate's fallacy in the entire world. they literally think themselves above everyone else in terms of intellect and higher thought.

the reality is, while their ancestors may have had some kind of claim to that notion, the current political class are several generations in to the political high life. they're pampered to hell and insulated from the real world by several layers. they think they know everything, have the power to act on everything, and yet are completely retarded.

Facebook’s secretive shadowbanning is 1000x worse than twitter’s open censorship.

Not that it makes it any more right, but they're probably not wrong that most people are too stupid to govern themselves.

Most people are stupid, and there's no getting around that fact, regardless of which side of the narrative you're on.

Left or right most people don't read past the headlines anymore; nothing is ever verified, only accepted or rejected outright.

People aren't interested in knowledge anymore, only ideology.

I would challenge the assertion that anyone was ever interested in knowledge. The appearance of valuing knowledge, on the other hand...

That isn't what they're really saying though.

They're simply calling conservatives retarded and using that "fact" as an excuse to control the narrative.

I know that isn't really what they're saying.

These forms of control are surgically targeting conservatives and ignoring any and all misinformation that progressives spew, which makes trying to control the narrative at all even worse.

All they're doing is making political discussion impossible by attempting to control, rather than mediate. Makes one side feel angry, and the other feel righteous. Not a good mix.

Yeah, it wasn't always that way.

But today, despite having more information available than ever, most people refuse to engage with it for some reason.

I have a feeling it has a lot to do with smartphones and over-use of the internet. There are so many sources of low-investment dopamine that lead to zero personal growth or long-term fulfillment, unlike 20+ years ago.

Attention spans have been nuked to mere seconds for the majority.

"Think You’re Too Stupid To Govern Yourself"

Stop falling for this trap. No, they don't think you're stupid. They know people aren't stupid. That's why the need to control the information people see so that they aren't able to think for themselves. The point of feeding people a constant roll of pro-government propaganda is to make them stupid.

It matters because "think you're stupid" makes it seem like it's all a naive mistake whereas "manipulate what you think", which is what it actually is, is far more nefarious.

Think about the terms you use. Otherwise you are simply propagating another layer of propaganda, still to the government's own benefit.
