Therapy is definitely a holy sacrament for leftists. It's right up there with sucking off troons and touching children.

The thing is, this gives therapists a level of power that they don't actually wield.
Its probably a good 50/50 if the Leftist in question even hears the words their therapist says. They just want to shield of "I'm going to therapy" to justify themselves for what they want to do already.
BetterHelp runs off that business model entirely. Its how they bounce back from every controversy with enough money to run 12000 ads on every show and somehow everybody is seeing one. Because its a cheap fakery meant to enable you into stopping holding yourself back. Most of the time, from being a worse person.
Like, there is no doubt a lot of manipulative and dangerous therapists. But I don't think the actual person holds as much power as people around here think. Its merely the trappings and ideas of therapy that have been rendered so holy, rather than its actual process.
That and the drugs. The drugs are probably the biggest evil coming from the therapists.
That's an excellent point. Regardless of how effective one thinks therapy is, we all know that leftists don't work on themselves, they just pretend to for moral superiority that they can lord over others. They also tell others to go to therapy to shut down discussions about the problems that they create for groups they hate.
I have encountered this and the absolutely cunty condescension is enraging.
Therapy is seeking a way out of your self destruction. Narcissistic folks don't go to therapy for that.
Its also a commitment. To the long and hard road of self reflection and facing your fears.
Not one part of that is something most people in therapy are actually capable of.
It's the reason why I get so sick of the term triggers. They are real, but trying to make it all they have is the exact opposite of what is needed.
That's how they always do it. They take something that some of the hardest men suffering from of the worst horrors possible are burdened with (rape culture, PTSD, triggers) and then make it all about them until its cheapened so much those very men feel like pussies even acknowledging they might be suffering. I've met many vets who refuse to talk about their PTSD because of how badly they think it reflects on them because of how "everyone says they have it now."
So its beyond simple cringe girls ruining a word in their attention seeking. Its always increasing the suffering and horrors men deal with entirely so they can feel special in their pampered lives.

I think the primary function of therapists in society is to be friend-prostitutes for women.
Men pay for sex.
Women pay for someone to listen to their bullshit.
I am kinda done with therapy. Didn't help me much, took me down. I now just suck it up, talk to friends and family about issues and that helps me more getting over them. Also, sports. Gym and generally hiking in the woods is heavenly for my mood.
