Building Society Admits it Would Close Customers’ Accounts if They are "Rude or Discriminate" – The Daily Sceptic
A leading building society has revealed that it closes customers' accounts if they engage in "rude" or "discriminatory" behaviour as the fallout from Nigel Farage having his bank account closed continues.
orly?
We all know that right-wing speech is violence, and that normie silence is violence, and that left-wing violence is speech. So, if the normie doesn't put up the pride flag, you'll close their bank account. If the rightist says "it's okay to be white", you'll close the bank account.
It's just too bad you don't want your customers discriminating in any way, when you literally give yourself that right.
Let's be honest. If one of your customers was arrested for murder or pedophillia, you wouldn't close their account, because you wouldn't have even heard about it. It's the same reason HSBC has bank accounts for the cartels, CIA front organizations, and terrorist groups.
Not only can they close an account, they can easily have every other bank, building society, financial provider or utility refuse or end service to you as well. From what Nigel Farage described as happened to him, he will be deemed a risk based on his political stance and CIFAS markers can be added to any name and address in order to do the same thing for up to six years. Which ultimately means you can't even open a basic bank account, can't work, can't pay for utilities or your home if you don't outright own it because they're going increasingly cashless or function in society. All because you have differing viewpoints or criticised a bank or building society.
Does this mean its safer to have a name of “John Smith” - (Or Muhammad Abdul if in the UK)
The banks surely cannot block anyone with an “untraceable” name?
They work on the basis of no business by default. If they can't trace and verify who you are, you have the same consequence as if you did if you had a mark against your name.
Chinese Social Credit Scores are on The Right Side of History!
WARNING: CONTROVERSIAL COMMENT INCOMING
To be fair, the Chinese social credit system, while extraordinarily bad because it's like 1984, mostly targets bad behavior and rewards good behavior. The Western social credit system rewards bad behavior and punishes good behavior.
The West is just Chinese-type repression, but without the competent governance, reason and accountability.
I mean yeah when you wipe out personal responsibility, religion, and traditional culture and make the totalitarian State the sole arbiter of right and wrong, and you have generations who have grew up in a secular police state (naturally with corrupt local officials), there aren't many options to regulate personal behavior. Either you create a Panopticon that can monitor everyone at all times, or you condition them to behave in other ways. China is trying both.
Honest to God, I thought you were talking about the West right up until you mentioned CHY-na.
With the forthcoming obesity strategies that the west will be rolling out this decade, I can see tackling obesity in society as one of the ways states will get commentators and the public, including those who were anti-lockdown and anti-vaccine mandate, to support a social credit system.
I doubt that very much. There are too many vested interests in obesity for anything serious let alone draconian to be done about obesity.
I wouldn't be surprised if people start moving their money to banks based in Switzerland, Russia, Japan etc over this. Better having the inconvenience to set it up than have the risk of losing access because you said a mean thing online.
Switzerland sacrificed their neutrality on me alter of Ukraine.
Are you a shill, trolling or retarded?
The fact Europe and North America are heading to be on par with China on financial coercion says most of my argument for me.
Therefore russia... ?
They unironically are the least likely to fuck with you so long as you don't fuck with them option.
There's oligarchs today alive and well because they chose the 'don't fuck with' when Putin took over, the rest well... siberia is a big place...
Essentially Russia is the modern day robber baron and the West is the virtuous do gooder hurting us 'for our own good'
So... exactly the situation you're trying to avoid in the UK? Don't cross the regime or you get de-banked? At least Charles isn't tossing people out windows yet.
I find this 'window-tossing' nonsense to be quite interesting. Apparently, the UK is much better than Russia, because while it arrests more people for comments on social media, allows the rape of teenage girls if the perpetrators are Pakistanis, and butchers hundreds of thousands of people around the world in US-sponsored wars, no one has died because... horrors of horrors... of being pushed out of a window.
Do you think no one gets arrested in russia? All those high profile political murders are just a random iceberg tip floating around with nothing underneath?
Russia's 'don't fuck with us' policy: so long as you don't siphon money from Russia to somewhere else and don't attempt to oppose military policy, you're fine.
The UK's 'don't fuck with us' policy: suck the feminine dick, don't bring up our failed immigration policy, don't bring up the grooming gangs, don't publicly run on a campaign that highlights how we are selling our native population out to foreigners who are here for the free gibs. This may change depending on our feelings.
I wouldn't want to live in Russia either, but I think while they are more openly violent or authoritarian than the West, they are less totalitarian. Ironically that might be possible because of the violence. People naturally don't cross the authority on small things if they can help it. In the West we still have the notion and trappings of liberty, so we still freely express wrongthink and are surprised when we get arrested for it.
Imagine silk thinking Russia are the bad guys lol
Moving your money to a Ukrainian bank would be just as stupid. Good or bad, the war is happening. If you manage to buy rubles you can't sell them. Russia's not getting out of these sanction in the foreseeable future. They just had a short lived armed rebellion where they shot down a bunch of their own helicopters and now they're disappearing some generals or some shit. The whole thing could come down tomorrow. The same with ukraine. The idea of anyone moving their money to a russian bank is fucking absurd.
I bought an ETF following Russian stocks early on because I thought it would recover quite quickly, and it's been frozen in my account for over a year now. I can't sell it, I can't buy it, nothing.
Well, 68,000 Europeans died last winter due to the energy crisis created by the EU, but that sure as hell isn't stopping them as they don't care at all about their slaves dying.
Source about the 68,000 Europeans?

Thank you.
Which one are you?
Everybody in the Western world will be living with social credit scores enforced by the gayest Reddit-like moderators you've ever seen and there's nothing anybody can do about it without a time machine.
Discrimination is a part of life. You can't not discriminate in conducting day-to-day affairs. Everyone does it. The only thing people differ on is what we prioritize when discriminating. In fact their statement is literally announcing how they plan to discriminate between customers and persona non-grata.
So this leading business is not only run by virtue-signaling leftists but is also staffed by illiterates. I guess it comes with the territory.
Businesses have already succeeded in making the argument that they should have the right to discriminate, that was the point of the Supreme Court ruling yesterday and in the UK is legal as long as it is within the Equality Act. That includes the right for businesses to individually and collectively ban anyone they wish.
Watching a barrister on this issue tonight, the banks have an easy way to ensure they win any court case brought against them on discrimination grounds. They can easily argue that your politics makes you a risk to any financial institution or business and ask for the court proceedings to be done in private. Subsequently if they succeed, every business that deals with finance and money will deem you too much of a risk to do business with.
We need to ask how have we got to a point where one bank or building society been given so much power that they can in one move, destroy a person's life, purely because they have opposing political opinions or beliefs?
Thou shalt not suffer a bank to exist.
Looking through the various terms and conditions, one of the things you have to agree to is that you won't cause offence or behave improperly in any setting, including in a private place, not just while using their product or communicating with their staff. In effect, we now have privatised behaviour and speech codes enforced in unison by private companies.
From the Yorkshire Building Society terms and conditions:
"Closure without notice
We can close your account immediately if any of the following apply: a) The relationship between you and us has irretrievably broken down, for example, you have used threatening or abusive language to our staff.
We are a diverse and inclusive organisation and are hugely proud that this is reflected in our membership, so we’re committed to ensuring that everyone is treated with respect. We will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism, ableism or any other form of discriminatory language or behaviour."
Bear in mind wilful violation of that condition is classed as obtaining an account by fraud and gets a CIFAS marker added to your account, barring you from practically any financial or utility for six years. Should you sue for discrimination (assuming you can find the money to pay for it from elsewhere), the bank will ask to have the proceedings done in private to tell the judge why they banned you (for fraud) and ensure you can't hear that because by law, you the former customer can not find out why you've been banned by a bank or building society.
This is how much power the banks and building societies have.
I also found out that Germany has a right to a bank account law.
Take the name of a senior LEFT WING politician. and then fill in their gay pride survey using their name…
These clowns are not capable of being a replacement police force
They're going hard on showing their hand. Either they're very confident that their minions in government can protect them and prevent people from setting up new financial institutions to compete. Or they're desperate.
