People completely overestimate what it costs to support a woman.
Here's the thing, if you were a single man, you'd still have to rent a place to live and buy your own food, pay for your own water, heat, electricity, etc...
If a woman is with you, she sleeps in your bed. That means, the only thing you need to pay for when you have a woman is literally food and some extra bathroom supplies (toilet paper, soap and toothpaste isn't expensive). For most people out there, if a woman is at home cooking every day from scratch, it's possible that even though you're feeding two people, you can save money on food. That means for most men, having a woman around is literally mostly a revenue neutral affair.
The difficulty simply comes down to the woman's wants/desires. Women want vacations, they want to spend thousands of dollars on their hair each year, they want to spend thousands of dollars on clothes each year, they want to eat out, they want to go to concerts/events/whatever, they want to go camping/boating/whatever, they want the most expensive makeup, bathroom supplies and everything they can get, they want to do something that costs money. Men don't need to work second jobs to support women. Women simply want to consume so much that men would have to get a second job to support the woman's wants but the reality is that even then it won't be enough. She'll always want more.
If a woman can't be happy staying at home, cooking your food and keeping your bed warm then she's too costly. If she can be happy doing the aforementioned, then she barely will cost you a couple hundred more a month.
Not to mention why is the woman doing those things?
Normally, the woman is specifically consuming to ease some emotional or psychological issue. First is: is she consuming propaganda that promotes insecurity or resentment? Cut that shit out right away, and don't budge on that. Feminism and Fashion mags are particularly bad at abusing women.
Second: is she consuming some product in order to satiate some internal need? I she wanting lavish vacations? Okay, are you not taking her to get more social experiences outside the house? Let's say she wants to adorn herself with beauty products. Does she feel insecure about your affection to her? Let's say she want to adorn herself with expensive things. Does she feel insecure or undervalued? Let's say she is constantly shit-testing you, or wants to bicker. Is she trying to draw a more masculine or dominant side of you out? Let's say she wants to go out, and do wild things. Is it because she doesn't feel like she's gotten enough attention from you?
I've kind of come to the conclusion that "women are literally magical creatures", in the sense that their actions are so fundamentally based on aesthetics and metaphysics, that it's not really useful to address their issues in a materialist or deterministic sense. Address the metaphysical aspect of a woman's issue first, and you might actually solve the problem. Address the material aspect, and you never will.
You'll be addressing those issues forever like a chore. It'll never be good enough. That's why men don't address them. It's like a 9yo stomping their feet saying they want ice cream, then you get them ice cream and they decide they want candy, then a movie, then more more more. It's never good enough for women. Living your life by chasing after pleasing women in the metaphysical is just as bad as trying to please them monetarily. Both are a waste of time and money.
Yes. That is the nature of a relationship. It's like saying if I buy a plant I'll have to give it water forever: yes, that's what you need to do when you have a plant.
Similarly, you have to have provide a woman material grounding for her metaphysical presence, and vise versa.
This is not about enabling. This is about actually trying to solve the root of the problem. Obviously, you tell a woman no when necessary. But you also need to understand what the metaphysical issue that is at the root of that. Is your son being annoying and needy because he's a stupid child and should be punished for being worthless, or is it because he actually wants his father's attention and affirmation, because he's insecure about something?
There are women who don't act so unreasonable and childish as the examples you're both describing.
That's fair but in my experience, it's usually the latter. You're constantly having to battle what is reasonable and what is not such that it isn't worth it. I've done that for year before and in the end she may just leave you anyway because she wants a guy that doesn't tell her no even when he ought to.
Obviously, you're going to have women you can't do anything with, but that's why you have to include women in your search whom you are able to contribute to.
If she matches any of those traits I don't want her. If you're someone who strongly believes I MUST FIND A MATE TO BIRTH MY CHILDREN AS NATURE'S GOD INTENDS then I suppose it's worth playing that game. It's wouldn't be worth it to me.
That is another way of saying illogical creatures whose actions are based in fantasy instead of reality.
I strongly believe that men and women need each other has humans. Speaking otherwise is anti-human.
Logic has severe limitations when it comes to human relationships, Mr. Spok.
Trad West is a well documented grifter, saying empty utopian phrases to people dreaming of a better world to milk them of their money.
He is the Right Wing version of singing "Imagine" over and over as an actual political stance.
Happened to my friend. He left the Army after a good number of years service and went into truck driving which was paying really well because of a shortage of drivers so he could easily do the one income household while his wife stayed at home, raised the child and lived the pampered life of a housewife while he grafted long hours on the road to earn the money she spent.
And that's the thing. It's well paid but it is also long hours and days away from home and she repaid his hard work and income that was going to her by cheating on his neighbour. Worse still, she initiated the divorce and he got hit hard in the settlement to the point me, his other friends and his family had to pick up the pieces.
It seems to me that women put an absolute fucking premium on attention. You're better off not being with a woman, than being in a 'long distance relationship' because it's never going to be intimate to her.
Why does that 'woman' look like a soy boy in drag?
Back to the design table.
Don't even have to go close to that far. Get a job that pays well. It is possible by doing most anything that is offered at a trade school. More importantly, pick a different place to live. Small towns away from the cities it's totally do-able to have a single income family. I know multiple families that do quite well like this. Yeah, you're going to be in a boring town, but your family is your fun, not the vegan gastropub.
Good luck finding some place to apprentice you. Every journeyman knows that apprenticeships are a one way ticket to losing your fucking job.
And the vast majority run purely on nepotism. So unless you are family, or have family/friends vouching for you, they won't even respond to your calls. That's how 90% of "small town" jobs work unless you work for the major corpo chain franchise in the town.
As CCCPNeverAgain said, even this is way to extreme and unnecessary.
You can buy cheap "pay as you go" phone plans. Get one streaming service that you are going to use, and then share another. AC is perfectly fine (and in many cases necessary) so long as you have good insulation. Worse case: make a single "cool" room for your house. Normally a good option is the basement for the summer, then a warm room for the winter (like a loft)
Everything else is what a responsible adult should be doing anyways.
I've found just being okay being poor is better than making money, taxes, traffic, hours at work, etc. I'll work for peanuts part time and spend my life at home with my family. Bonus points for doing as much as possible outside of the tax banking system.
