Isn’t this an established trope now? Deconstruct popular male character so you can uplift a female character. Or the bait and switch. Like when I enjoyed game of thrones I was looking forward to the showdown between Jon Snow and the Night King. How stupid of me. Or I was excited to see Luke Skywalker in TFA or TLJ
They are out to destroy anything and everything they see as not fitting in with their politics.
Also, to anyone who thinks it's just a phase, and they'll stop once they are satiated? They aren't going to stop - ever - as "equality" has nothing to do with it. Anyone that thinks that it does needs only to look at the situation with our college system right now. They changed everything to insure that more women would get in - and achieve "equality!". Now that it's women that are massively over-represented in college, have they removed any of the programs that bias it towards women?
We have already seen the next phase of this in other media. When you can't replace any more men with women the women start being replaced with troonery
So what was the point in making this one then? All you've done is completed the BINGO in ruining every Lucasfilm franchise there is. Disney basically paid billions to Lucas for complete shit when a small studio could easily make millions using the license.
They are just afraid to stop Kennedy. She has so much power she can't be removed so they have to allow her to publicly fail because otherwise she'll cry "sexism" if they fire or demote her.
Didn't stop the Mouse from axing Victoria Alonso from Marvel, even though she (being a Latinx lesbian) enjoys even more diversity points than Kennedy. Tbh, at this point I'm leaning toward the idea that KK was a fantastic fuck in her prime and built up a big enough dossier of blackmail on every important person at Disney/Lucasfilm that she's ever gone to bed with, possibly up to and including Lucas and/or Spielberg themselves, to fill Little St. James twice over to make sure she's impossible to fire.
Even if Disney wants to destroy Star Wars & Indy for the sake of The Message™, you'd think they'd want someone who could do so on a slower and more profitable timetable. They're bleeding money bad enough to lay off thousands (no doubt including numerous other, probably more diverse hires than Kennedy herself, because that's the kind of people Iger's been filling the company with for ~18 years and who Chapek bowed to) recently and yet they won't touch the one person who pretty much everyone hates & has identified as the root cause of so many problems, to the point where she can't get applause at Disney events? It can't be a (literally) skin-deep-issue.
Old Indy and Old Jean Luc Picard should team up for a buddy comedy about two former archeologists who decide to drop their swashbuckling ways and go around feebly apologizing for the grave sins the White Man has committed against the Earth and the entire galaxy. They will be derided at every turn by a strong female who reminds them that they are nothing but tired, worn out relics of the past.
I'm sure combining their huge fan bases will result in a massive hit.
I would respond with, "The shitbag left", but it's not true. To all these franchises they destroy with their politicking, they never actually go watch the stuff. They are merely vocal in celebrating its destruction, and then they move on to the next one.
Again - it's not about creating something with the politics that they like in it. It's about taking away something - from the people that don't share their politics.
Of course that's how Indy is in this movie, because that's the point. Destroying every hero that stands for traditional American values isn't a bug; it's a feature. None of this is an accident. As is the case in every other totalitarian regime in history; anything that does not explicitly support woke globalism must be destroyed. Neutrality and escapism are not permitted.

It's not a trope. It's an agenda.

Yeah. That's what I thought.
All too true

$$$.
If he didn't agree to it Disney would freeze him out of future projects.
I didn't mean for Harrison Ford, you pay him enough he'll play any character he said he hates.
I meant Disney, they're really on a mission to destroy EVERY franchise they hold the rights to.
They are just afraid to stop Kennedy. She has so much power she can't be removed so they have to allow her to publicly fail because otherwise she'll cry "sexism" if they fire or demote her.

It is worse than "bleeding money", they are down to a cash reserve of 10.2 Billion. That is enough to run Disney for a little over a month.
If there was a problem with their banking loans (injunction etc) then Disney would be literally bankrupt next month.
LOL. She's far too old for him.
He should be. Enough of him already. You made your 'sad man with dog' movie now copy Liam Neeson again by retiring
So they made him a senile geriatric? Who wants to see that?

I used to ask these very people why they can’t make their own stories and I finally realized it’s about destroying
Remember, he HATED Han Solo.

you guys watched the "young adventures of indiana jones"? didnt know that existed.
Anyone who pays real money to see this after so many warning signs deserves the eye and brain rape they get.
