Oh, that's right. Google used to have a useful search engine.
Google Map is still useful. Their best product outside of purchases made by their parent company, like Youtube.
Its become increasingly shitty at directions over the last 4 years or so, and most people I've asked agreed. 'Go this way- I mean that way- I mean do a 180 and drive 5 miles into a random cul-de-sac before you go back the way you came' type shit. Could just be my area, though (undisclosed US).
The Map is fantastic, the Navigation is pretty spotty. If you can look at a map between point You and Destination and figure out your own route it has most everything you need, but if you ask it to do it for you you might be in for a rough time.
Orlando feels like my GPS got drunk.
Google Maps was going to send me on highways for about 200 miles because it would be "more eco friendly" and then waze sent me on the interstate and knocked off 2 hours on my travel time. Apparently two more hours of driving is somehow more efficient
I'm using DDG which I think uses google for results.
