I don't really pay attention to AAA games but I can't help but notice the number of intentionally ugly women - black women in particular - that are being used in marketing these days.
Of female gamers I would guess that the group that plays games the least would be black women. Yes there are black women who play games but I would think they play the least of the groups. Same with reading sci-fi/fantasy.
I have yet to even see a black woman be into games, let alone any fantasy genre. It's the one they try to push the most because they want them in those spaces. Same as with women going into tech: they don't want to, stop trying to social engineer shit no one was asking for.
Like I said I’ve only seen a few but the group that teased me the most about nerdy stuff were black women. I just find it odd this push to cater to them. Same with comic books and the female push. I guess they are into music and stuff
The only black women I know who play video games are gigantic weebs playing Anime games and the occasional Nintendo "comfy" games like Pokemon and Animal Crossing.
And never are their player characters anywhere close to black caricatures like these.
The ratings on Xbox marketplace are dismal and quite entertaining. This game is a deserved flop, and Arkane hasn't learned a thing after Deathloop "underperformed despite solid gameplay" and choked on woke.
I wish they would, because the premise of both Redfall and Deathloop instantly hooked me in concept only for the execution to be so bad that I will never, ever want to experience what could have been a very good story, if only everyone involved wasn't a retard. It's like they have their only talented guy busy thinking up cool ideas that they immediately hand off to a band of drooling nincompoops.
Well the premise seems interesting in the sense of vampire hunters vs vampire gods, but the second I read "scientist created vampires trying to save his daughter and became their god", I knew it would be shit.
It would be good if it were just Borderlands or Dead Island with vampires, that's a pretty low bar too, but they insisted on making it more grounded and over-explaining everything in the summary articles.
They've gone all in on the diversity myth and seem to think that pushing woke is a substitute for quality. This is the same mindset Hollywood has adopted.
They're not going to stop until everything on a TV screen in any media format is complete garbage.
It's all about ticking those diversity boxes and that means putting black female front and centre, at least it makes it easier to know whether a game is going to be shit now.
It's actually kind of funny -- back in the early '00s, the best way predict if a game was derivative, unimaginative garbage was if its cover featured a jacked (generally white) guy with a crew cut.
Now it's a black chick with ugly frizz hair. Progress!
Most of the games featured fit white guys with short hair because 1) white males were the target audience and 2) short hair was easier to render. The good games and the bad games had similar protagonists.
It's the leftist 'smugly' face. It's everywhere in marketing now. Especially in comic books. I don't know the purpose behind it, but it's everywhere. There's a meme genre about it.
I think female writers think it's strength/empowerment. Because dudes learned long ago this face gets you punched, but .. well equal rights and all that haven't really kicked in yet.
Look up the TMNT 'Arpil O'niel' typo comic book cover. Yah they actually printed it "Arpil'. That's how competent Heather Antos is as an editor. One of the original Smuglies. You'll see the expression on 'Arpil' and recognize it's on so much other shit right now.
I looked it up, holy cow the art is terrible. Like the last page of clip art from a 1990's bargain bin CD that no one ever bothers to scroll to. No wonder these people are afraid of AI. https://i.imgur.com/epNsHkX.png
Black women's involvement in any media conveys that compromises have been made with the empire ideology.
Either through ideological capture - in which case we know the quality will have suffered immensely through a mix of diversity hires and regressive tropes, and that the product will be nothing but propaganda.
Or through opportunism - in which case we know that the product is going to be soul-less, bland, and uninteresting in every way.
Conclusion: you should be glad they're featured, it lets you know immediately what to avoid.
You know it's bad when even your typical JRPG bishie boy protagonist with the oversized sword, big spiky hair, and leather overcoat with all the belts trailing on it is dressed more functionally for battle.
I prefer the most efficient, yet pain-inflicting methods. It is difficult to get a sustained flame going that can melt metals, so most of your FTFYs are not so good ideas. Apply the correct amount of pain, the correct amount of pressure and even the most zealous enemy's morale simply collapses.
You'll understand when you simply yank a gun out of a feral's hand and deftly disassemble it. The look of absolute terror and despair on their faces is worth the trouble of learning how to quickly disassemble guns.
.... still, if you do manage to get a flamethrower capable of melting metal, I'll say that's a useful weapon to have when the ferals declare a race war.

What is that expression supposed to convey?
Who is this supposed to appeal to?

I wonder though, what are black women into?
STDs.

Well, "music"
The only black women I know who play video games are gigantic weebs playing Anime games and the occasional Nintendo "comfy" games like Pokemon and Animal Crossing.

Actually hot, big tiddied black women that appeal to European standards like anime and video games.
Probably because they were raised by whites or in a white majority area.
True. I’ve known a few black girls into anime
“Cracka ass vampires can suck this dick fr fr”
The vampire is black too, and just as badly designed.

LMAO looks like a fucking blaxploitation movie.
Except Blaxploitation movies were entertaining.
triple AAAHAHAHAH games.

Or the woman with side shave

Yeah that cover would most definitely outsell the Arpil cover. Even with the AI gibberish text.
Well, women are still allowed to punch other women, and I'd definitely punch that face. And I'd punch my own I saw that in the mirror.
Oh, but wait, I'm too pale to punch that darkie bitch. But throw in spiritual dysphoria? Maybe I'd get away with it ....
It is supposed to impress the game director's wife's boyfriend's daughter.

Not just black women, but either the ugliest black woman they could find, a black woman with a giant 70s afro, or Debra Wilson.
That expression? "You dead, boy"
Weak points identified;
Hair: Set on fire.
Earrings: Tug and rip.
Chain necklace: Twist and choke.
Gun: Pull away from hand, disassemble by forcing the chassis downwards.
Final comments: Target is a small time thug that's never been in an actual fight.

FTFY. Why ruin a good thing? 🔥

Leftist dudes love it. See it as a thumb in the eye to those they hate.
Dreamworks face
The only face it's not punchable on is Nick Wilde's. And that's mostly because he is a fucking con artist, so it fits.
It started in tween movies and has grown from there. Basically, the game is aimed at older teenagers who have been raised by it.
They always have the same hair too.
Its snark and arrogance.
