This is a topic I could discuss for hours on end
The simple answer is "too many humans would try to fuck the aliens".
Social media narcissism means someone would try to be the first person to fuck an alien, just to be first. Fucking an alien on camera would be either a very close second or even the first thing some go for just to tick "alien fucker" and alien porn off at the same time. That's before even getting to the rest of the list of things people would be trying to do.

The Galactic Federation has quarantined this entire star cluster, building a massive stellar dome to mimic interstellar space to us, as well as silence radio signals from the thriving galaxy simply because they detected marxists here. The few times UFOs are real is when they're just joyriding teenagers trying to stick it to the Man.
If they got the technology for space travel, they probably got the technology to not need to land to accomplish their task.
