tl;dr

Children need "more rights" by giving the state more control over them.

The U.S. is the only member state of the United Nations that has not ratified the Conventions on the Rights of the Child.

You mean the UN that say pedophilia is acceptable?

Others, such as giving minors the right to vote and protecting children from gun violence and climate catastrophes, feel unachievable in today’s political environment.

Because it’s nonsensical? We get you haven’t grown up but that doesn’t mean we should be letting actual kids vote.

The Rights of the Child treaty is about taking away the rights of parents to raise their kids as they see fit. It compliments the globalists' pro-pedo agenda perfectly.

We can't get to your kids today - but someday... We will get to the promised land.

I agree that our children should be more demanding, but the entire establishment agenda is built around ensuring that they inherit less.

It has been the essential duty of every generation in human history to strive to leave behind a better world for the next generation, to ensure that those who come after them will be better off and have an easier life. Some generations, just like some individual parents, have tried and failed. Others succeeded, but all acknowledged that that was their responsibility.

Only the post-war generations, starting with the Boomers, have become so preoccupied with our own opulence and prosperity, and with the unnecessary guilt we feel about it, that we have allowed ourselves to be convinced that it is instead our duty to ensure our children are worse off than we were.

Whether the reason is to save the planet, or to help the poor unfortunate refugees who come from broken corrupt shithole countries, or to help those who still live there; whether it's sacrificing their future prosperity to protect their grandparents from the sniffles, or sacrificing it on the altar of climate change, social justice, women's rights, animal rights or whatever other excuse the elite come out with next to convince us all that the middle class is a bad thing and the very concept of social and economic mobility needs to be abandoned, the Western polities will eat it all up like clotted cream. We have become so obsessed with our own self-flagellation and existential angst that we allow the elites who govern us to convince us that the only way to leave a better world for our children is to deliberately impoverish them all.

And you, you crusty, syphilitic, pedo-fawning MSM rainbow cunt, are a part of the machine that drives that narrative. You want your children to demand more from you? Start with quitting your pathetic excuse for a job and consigning yourself to the same poverty and uncertainty that your agenda has forced onto them.

I would go over this travesty of an article and address it point by point, but I doubt any of you want to read that, so "If we empower the government to empower our kids, everyone will have better lives! Tee hee!" is this article in a nutshell.

Children are stupid, but they should eventually grow out of it with guidance and care. Giving power to children is stupid, but the adults advocating for it are either not smart enough to see that or wish to exploit the children for their own gain, and it is probably the latter.

Mostly just garbage demanding more government. I can’t really bother to pick through it piece by piece because it’s the whole article.

I want the right to enjoy my kids more, to worry less, rush less, work less, and spend less on summer camps, education, and extracurriculars.

You can do this and generally choose not to. You know what I see? Parents that can’t be bothered to give up their expensive city requiring dual income while blowing it all at the sustainable gastropub while if they bother to have the kid with them the whole time it’s told to shut up with an iPad in its face. Pawn the kid off on someone and go off on a fancy vacation. Why can’t they move to an affordable place and spend their free time playing with their kids. Take their kids to a weekend away in a nearby town instead of their lavish vacation away. Quit acting like your kids are an inconvenience ruining your night out at the bar. Hell, I make a point to spend time with kids in my family that aren’t even my own. It’s actually a ton of fun for me and them both, and you know what, I’ve got buddies for life because instead of being the quiet guy in their family that just wanted them to go away I paid a little attention and acted like I gave a crap.
