Anyone remember when journalists used to hold government accountable? Instead of stenographers for the elite. (twitter.com)

Nope. Ok, there's occasional good ones (or a good story from a bad one), but William Randolph Hearst got into the newspaper business over 130 years ago and there's been issues since at least then (if not before then)

Before, for sure. Have you read mark Twain's "Journalism in Tennessee" (1870)? It's a riot and illustrates how nothing has really changed.

No I don't remember that, and neither do you. The media of the time colluded with FDR to hide his being crippled from the public, so as to tilt elections in his favor.

Everything about the demeanor of the woman was just pathetic. Projection, cuntiness, and denialism. It was like watching a Hillary wannabe. Funny how Stewart doesn’t bother applying the same logic to the social services government provides or even the vet bill he cried over when republicans wanted to make sure the funding was specifically allocated just to the VA and not to democrat project slush funds.

Look at her blinking as she lies. Really amusing to see people who can't even lie well reach there positions that's kind of pathetic.

It would have been nice to have this from someone who wasn't a timid leftit pussy and actually put her feet to the fire.

Ah, Jon Stewart, leftist darling, who has decided to attempt to go into “serious journalism” again…

I was a fan, once…

I’m really not, anymore.

Except with the Ohio train derailment shit. He did some good work with that, recently…

But really, like every other “comedian turned political wannabe”, stay in your fucking land…

Not because we shouldn’t be aiming for people who aren’t career politicians, but because, much like actors, comedians essentially lie for a living.

I’m not sure we need more of that, in the political sphere…
